Height Adjustable Desks

Hi all,

 

Bit random - but has anyone got an electric standing desk? Due to a problem with my hips and having to sit and work a lot more, I've been given permission to get a hight adjustable sit/stand desk. Not sure what to get - has to be on Amazon.

 

So - anyone used one?

it is great for her hip and she has a walking treadmill so she can walk and talk on teams

Ermm... I think the school needs to review it's price range! Costco aren't going to be premium end and I think that's a pretty fair price. Go to lower priced and you may end up needing to buy a replacement very soon.

 

A £500 spend on staff wellbeing is entirely reasonable.

 

And Amazon only - why so? I've known schools refuse to use Amazon, but never the other way around?

If your talking about electric standing desks then the school may need to up it's budget if you think £300 is way too much - for you as you aint gonna get £100 desks for this purpose.

 

Costco stuff is really good I use their stuff in my garage.

We fitted these on all of our desks in the office, solid frame and the single motor version can handle up to 70kg which is plenty.

I agree with the others about the budgets...

 

Not going to get much for lower than that, we are using Kinnarps desks here which are pretty expensive (around £800) but are built brilliantly, had a couple which were bought 5+ years ago and never had an issue with them and investment in staff health is not something to cheap out on!

As others have mentioned, you need to up the budget!

No, but I've seen someone else using a sort of mini-table / stand that sits on an existing desk and lifts just the laptop / screen. Might be worth considering if budget is an issue. A height-adjustable (gas lift?) screen mount might also be an option - rather than lifting a whole desk, just lift the displays and (of course) something large enough to hold a keyboard and mouse.
