The on/off button on the mic is also a mute switch with one click rather than holding down. -

We have Connevans Soundfields with the pendant mics in each of our classrooms, which have been installed for at least six years without any faults. The teachers who actually use them love them. I've never had any issues reported to me with the speakers or the microphones, which are rechargeable. But we have fairly small classrooms, so they definitely don't get daily use. Quite expensive, but these were donated by a former parent, thankfully. If it were on my budget, I probably wouldn't have had them in every room. https://www.connevans.co.uk/product/3109896/45SWPKF/Swift-Digital-classroom-soundfield-with-SwiftTX-pendant-mic -
Digital Signage software, what do you use?

Got a demo booked in with Trilby next week so see what they can show me, thanks for all the suggestions will look into the rest. -
Hi all, Just having a rethink on what we could be using within our school. We have 11 screens around the school running ScreenCloud to display images/news/information to everyone. This currently runs at about £205 p/m which I think is pretty high... We do not use their hardware and simply just run the software from a firestick which links to the cloud portal. I did see TrilbyTV at BETT but they weren't running any sort of demo, you had to book in one which I haven't managed to organise yet. Wondering if there any software out there you would recommend and whether this is good pricing for what it is. Thanks!

Voice amplifier for teacher in classroom
Mixed replied to BlueSkies's topic in AV and Multimedia Related
We have these in each classroom, probably aren't used by 80% of teachers but work just fine when they are used and very simple for teachers, no issues in the 5 years I've been here. https://www.connevans.co.uk/catalogue/1689935/Swift-Digital-system-packages Not sure how they compare in terms of pricing as I believe these were donated to the school by a parent before I joined. -
I'm looking for a new 50-55" TV - my current Samsung 2019 Q60R QLED died on me last week. So anything of similar or better spec for a solid deal and I'm all over it.

I agree with the others about the budgets... Not going to get much for lower than that, we are using Kinnarps desks here which are pretty expensive (around £800) but are built brilliantly, had a couple which were bought 5+ years ago and never had an issue with them and investment in staff health is not something to cheap out on! https://www.kinnarps.co.uk/products/desks--tables/sit-stand-desk/

Hi all, We've recently gone to 1-1 iPads for one year group, now that we've got this up and running I've noticed Apple Classroom is only setup for when those students are logged into a shared device. Does anyone know how I can add their individual devices so that they can be seen in Apple Classroom via JAMF. Can't seem to find a way... Any advice is appreciated. Thanks, Tom

Using IDP Smart 31 - Good quality and no issues as of yet, paired with eMedia CS to generate the images for printing. Would recommend if not trying to blow the budget on one.

Hey all, About to replace a bunch of keyboards in the classrooms, currently filled with HP PR1101U which is a pretty basic keyboard and looking to change from these. But thought I'd check to see what everyone else is running and where they got them from. Happy for wired and wireless suggestions. Thanks,

Hey all, I have convinced our school to finally attempt to move from on-site storage for all files to onedrive - beginning with the admin team. Currently, our file structure is an absolute mess and it's impossible to find files unless you've worked here for years and understand the jumble. I'm just looking to see if anyone has any suggestions on file structure or examples to look at. Trying to avoid bringing over years of unused files as there has never been a proper archiving structure put in place. Thanks in advance,

Nice one, looking good on this test iPad. Strange how it suddenly stopped working after 7/8 years of being set up in this way. Thanks for the speedy solution!

Hi all, We have a bank of around 120 iPads ranging from iPad Air 2 up to iPad (8th gen) - all controlled through JAMF For those iPads that are assigned to one user (class teachers) a fair few of them are losing Wi-Fi connection after a few minutes or each time the device is locked/restarted, we have not had this issue on any shared device. Wi-Fi works for all other devices in the school with no issues. Solutions tested: Updating to the latest IOS - X Wiping the device completely and reinstalling user profiles - X Pushing profiles containing Wi-Fi credentials back out to the device - X Manually inputting Wi-Fi credentials to each iPad - X Testing a different Wi-Fi - X Each of these allows connection for a few minutes but then experiences the same issue of it completely dropping out as before, any other suggestions are welcome as this is getting difficult for class teachers to use their devices on a daily basis.

IT Tech based in London, an Independent school. Two years in the Job, no background in IT before here apart from personal interests. Recently became the sole IT Tech after a colleague moved on and they have decided I am capable on my own. EduGeek has saved me multiple times and given me insights into other educational facilities, which I am yet to experience having only worked in one school - Thanks for all your help guys!!
