Increased amount of YouTube vids blocked by Smoothwall

Hello All,

 

Anyone noticing more videos being blocked than usual when using Smoothwall since leeds 70?

Couldn't see where it was being applied but Staff were in restricted mode for YouTube , don't think it was happening before Leeds 70

Put in a content modification rule at the top to "ignore" for Staff and works ok

We're having issues here, looks like the content modification policies are ignoring the 'who' part?

Also got the same issue here. Its to do with your content policy for YouTube. Turn it off then check the videos and they should work.

 

For some reason staff is going through our 'Student' Policy so have a call open with Smoothwall on why our staff policy is not working. Completed the first round so just waiting for a 2nd line engineer to contact me.

Getting this as well, got a content modification policy for staff to ignore restricted mode/safety mode but videos are still being restricted.

Does that mean my ticket which has gone to second line needs to be closed or does it still need looking into on Maiden 11? Unless this is fixed in Maiden 12?

Keep the ticket open for now as I know support are targeting customers. For anyone on Maiden this fix will be in Maiden 13.

Just had an email saying Leeds72 is now available and should fix the YouTube issues.

How long should it take for Maiden 13 to install from Maiden 11? I cannot get to the GUI on the Smoothwall yet able to VPN into the network!! Monday could be fin and games! i was suspicious about a 13 update!

Ok, so. For me, videos still blocked unless student logs into youtube with their schhol google account and the video is then playable.

Slight tangent, but for those on Leeds-70 and above, have you have to make sure authentication works ok? I saw something about NTLM finally being dropped.

Had to log a ticket for two of our smoothwalls as they were only showing leeds-71, they got sorted today.

Yes releases are slightly staggered. Everyone should be seeing Leeds-72 now. If you are not please let me know.

We're still not - we opened a ticket and were asked to ensure we had a backup before applying it but it still isn't appearing.
