Toner Recycling

Does anyone know anywhere that will take compatible toners?

I've just filled up our recycling box but when I went to contact the company that supplied the box they no longer exist.

 

Ideally somewhere that will collect a large box full for free.

Hi Jessica,

 

Infotone will take lots of boxes. Get in touch with them just to double check but they take pretty much all toners to recycle. https://infotone.co.uk/

Great service, they'll send you stickers to print off and put on the boxes and arrange a local courier to collect. After a week or so they'll send over a recycling receipt.

I’ve started using https://www.wetradetech.com for free WEEE collections, they also collect toner cartridges. Can also get money back on kit they sell.

FYI toner recycling via Enviro are now a chargeable service and if they find them on your cage, you'll be invoiced.

 

Apart from the above, has anyone got any other recommendations?

Yeah I went to book a collection and this was on the email

 

 

I enquired about it and got this back.

We use Recycling Toner and Cartridges Programme - Xerox.

 

Obviously, this is only applicable for Xerox Toner (which our MFD/Printer stock are), but we also ensured our Managed Print Solution included the collection and recycling of old toner (bottles) etc.

We had a driver grumbling about that last month, but when I phoned to query it they said he'd jumped the gun and it wasn't implemented yet.

 

I've got a bin with a mix of hardware and empty toner that was accepted on the understanding they'd accept both.  They're welcome to invoice me for toner in the next bin, but I'll reject any charges for the toner in this one.

 

Part of the reason we don't use the bundled toner collection from the MFD provider is that it's not very good (needless faffing).

Got ricoh copiers here and Ricoh pick up the toners in a special box no issues or quibbles for free.  Try your photocopier manufacturer they may offer it for free too!

We are with ASL and they charge £30 for a box that can hold 50 medium/25 large. It'll be something I'll be considering next time the print contract is up.

Sorry, you are with ASL print management/services provider? As in you lease printers from them?

 

And they charge you? Is the box you receive from 'The Greener Side'?

I've only enquired it with them. I said surely, as a lease customer, you do a free service as part of the contract? nope.

I'll be leaving ASL when the contract is up. It's one I inherited and I've found the service awful.

Sounds like your not on a goverment framework contract as they tend to have everything included. 

 

Next time get on a framework direct with a reputable tier 1 manufacturer, by manufacturer I mean the company that makes the actual copiers not random third party companies who'se job it is to just skim extra money off you.

We also have Ricoh MFDs via LEA framework here and we just organise a used toner collection as needed via UPS using https://www.ricoh-return.com/en/start. 

 

Very easy, just box them all up, including any waste toner bottles, and put in Reception for collection. Doing that going on 12 years now and love the simplicity.

They still take them from us in or out of the WEEE bin for free - not seen any emails saying otherwise and their website still says they take toners for free!
