Hi,

Just looking in to purchasing some transceivers we need for a project, what's everyone's views on using compatibles over original Aruba transceivers?

Thanks

Compatibles, usually from FS.

We keep a 10Gb and 1Gb original around for those "see, it's the same problem with a branded transciever" moments when support insists on ticking a box on their script.

I swore off compatible transceivers after a firmware update on the switch knocked out half our network because the switch detected the transceivers were third party after the update.

It’s a crappy tactic from HPE/Aruba, I won’t deny it, but after that I always used genuines for peace of mind

Compatibles here.... as long as you get the correct manufacturer specific coded transceiver you're OK.

GBICs.com are reasonably priced... you might also want to look at Direct Access cables if you're patching in fairly close proximity.
