Strange one as RM Integris was the worst cloud based MIS and haven't really added many schools over the past 3 years. Maybe the RM Finance part is the better part of the deal?

Hmmm - The Key seem to be in acquisition mode. £16m doesn't seem a lot, especially when you compare to ESS's deal, but without knowing the financials it's hard to tell. Certainly the school MIS market remains an active environment. For me the surprise remains no news from OneAdvanced (Cloud School, formerly Progresso). Their market share has really dwindled. Would be interested in @bringmoredata giving a view on the current market.

I suspect they are buying the customers and that the MIS and Finance system (with their ongoing operational costs) are actually on the books as a liability, bringing the value of the transaction down to 16M.

To be honest, I think Advanced have got bigger fish to fry. They have massive NHS contracts, for one.

Agreed, and they are stronger in HE, but I would have thought it would make more sense to sell off the school MIS bit - perhaps it's not loss making, so just ticks along, but you'd guess investment would be low.

*** Edit - and of course there may be no interested buyers! ***

Doesnt suprise me At BETT you had to queue to get a demo of Bromcom but there were no queues at the RM stand.

My quick 5 minute chat about it informed me that it was a few years out of date and didn't do everything a school would need an MIS to do nowadays. May as well stay on SIMS if you want to run an archaic MIS.
