vdao Posted October 18, 2022 Posted October 18, 2022 Hi, The school I manage currently is working with the old Activ Primary boards. I am attempting to get a replacement pen for it. Not sure on the model of the pen I am looking for, but I believe it to be the 'Activpen3'. From what I remember they were blue with orange/yellow rings around. Any ideas of where I am able to purchase one of these outdated pens?

A couple of caveats, though: They require a firmware upgrade on the board This method only works for 2nd Gen Activboards, 1st Gen are toast these days Don't get tricked into paying a fortune for original grey and orange pens if you don't need them, there have been some unscrupulous people online selling them at a ridiculous premium.

I have managed to get hold of a pair of ActivArena pens, however I am unable to upgrade the firmware on my activboards as it is greyed out. The boards that I am dealing with as connected via serial cables. I am unable to find out which gen of Activboard we have. Any suggestions would be great

To my knowledge, there is no current stock pen on the market for the 1st Gen boards now. Now might be a great time to make the case as to why these boards need to be replaced with interactive touch screens If you're desperately stuck though, DM me and I might be able to help you source some original pens.
