Custom New User form for a Trust - send back to ticket system
dobbyit replied to dobbyit's topic in How do you do....it?
It does yes, need a custom form for each school -
I have tested a few options in a primary school setting, all using shared iPads. Smoothwall: Slow to set up and generate reports – didn't find it favorable. Senso: Shows promise, appreciated the interface, but lacked alerts on the dashboard and was challenging to configure. Lightspeed: Not yet explored as couldnt deploy the app

I have done this but through https://mylaptop-shop.co.uk/

It might help but doesnt secure the laptop and charger together. I put the asset number of the laptop in gold pen on front of the plug which matches the laptops, tablets, ipads.

Paxton POE+ Controller beeping every 3 minutes
dobbyit replied to dobbyit's topic in Physical Security
I've narrowed it down to the application server that is causing the ping, but not sure what on the server that is causing the pings. I'll keep killing a service one at a time -

Thank you, I have access to the configuration but can't find the correct setting, any ideas what I need to deactivate? I've turned off all alarms, from what I can see. The installers have said something on my network is pinging the devices and it's not paxton -

Paxton POE+ Controller beeping every 3 minutes

Its supplying POE, its on cat6a which i know is overkill. All 14 controllers doing the same. They are connected aroun 15W on Wired experiance FE -
We have just had a paxton door security fitted using the Paxton POE+ ACU controllers above each door connected with cat6a. The ACU beeps every 3minutes 24/7 doesnt matter if somebody is signing in or not. I cant find a setting using the Paxton Net2 software to turn off the beeps I have also checked the to see if I am scanning / pinging network endpoints but I have nothing on the network that does this Can anybody recommend or know a solution to turn off the beeps

We have had this issue before and we needed to make sure everybody was on the same app version, same ios version, everybody logs out then logs back in on new verison. After speaking to pe passport they said sync can take 24hours to complete. I dont like the app to be honest. I have said to teahcers to use the app for lesson plans but assessment, photos etc to be done via web broswer on PC or on the web broswer on IOS. Staff who do this have not had any issues.

We have been reviewing what to do if we have a disaster (fire, electrical, server fail etc). I have come accross Azure Site Recovery solution - does anybody use - what are the benefits and do you have Site Recovery enabled on all your VMs? We backup all our VMs in Veeam onsite to the NAS box and offsite to Azure - We have 3 physical servers with 11VMs as we use thin clients for children. Could I put Azure Site recovery agent on 2 of the VMS - VM1 - where SIMS, Finance are stored, VM2 - where staff shared and personal files are stored - the reason being is these are the two VMS we class that we could not operate a school on if we had a fire. All other servers are a bonus really, brokers, RDS, ubqitiy. Ideally we would like to be able to access data on sims and staff documents as soon as possible. Is Azure site recovery worth it? Is it the right solution? What other solutions are worth considering?

'Casting' PC display to multiple iPads
dobbyit replied to SimonL's topic in Mobile Devices & Tablets
A copy of the image would have to be on the teachers. Another option would have the resource in shared onedrive folder ie teachers folder, the children then could access the shared one driver folder and open the resource anotehr option would have the image uploaded to a QR creator website (https://me-qr.com/) and then children open image by scanning qr code -

Phone system working for in and outbound calls, updates now working for phones and software. We use RM education firewall i have requested all outbound and inbound ports open, no proxy on the static ipaddress and bypass the filtering. Sophos is not attached to that ipaddress so no blocking there, we use 3cx subcontracted by YTL.

My last one was a heat pump, really liked it, lasted just short of 6 years with a family of 4 and a dog. Could of got motherboard replaced i think but didnt think it was worth it, time for part and engineer to come out - if it was summer i might of thought about it. Ours is located under stairs so ideal for a heat pump dryer. No complaints.

Ours stopped working on friday - ordered a new one on friday evening, arrived monday lunchtime. https://markselectrical.co.uk/DTLP81141W_Beko-Heat-Pump-Tumble-Dryer.html

Since upgrading to 3XC V18.5 we have firewall issues being reported. I have contacted our firewall company and managed to solve a range of port issues but I have been left with 3 issues that cant be solved at the moment. testing 3CX PhoneSystem 01 SIP Server... failed (How to resolve?) stopping service... done detecting SIP ALG... failed (How to resolve?) testing port 5060... full cone test failed (How to resolve?) 3CX gives me this website - https://www.3cx.com/docs/firewall-checker/ The firewall company have said they have turned off SIP ALG on teh firewall and port 5060 is open inbound and outbound but still failing. Anybody got any ideas? we use RM Education on a juniper firewall

I am on a 2 year fix (1.4%) due to end with 10 years left, I have been advised to remortage (currently 6%) and take out 2 year fix but extend morgage to (25 or even 30years) this way still paying the same / similar for next 2 years and then when rates fall again reduce term again.
