caffrey Posted November 18, 2021 Posted November 18, 2021 I had been eye that up since it was announced but I heard from yanks who got it a month ago it isnt great if you use PPPOE and have a fast connection (aka openreach mostly) as its cpu is pretty weak which I suspect may be down to the chip problems. I would like a Dream Machine Pro but it too has issues with PPPOE if you have FTTP with openreach as it gets pegged by the cpu but they are trying to improve that. I just got a hold of a USW-Lite-POE in both 8 and 16 ports here to try. The unifi interface is nice but damn is it buggy, I keep getting the feeling unifi's software devs are drastically underfunded. The *new* interface is a mess and missing a ton of stuff and the old one couldnt handle me rewiring the positions of my switches so I may have to reset the whole thing. Ahh I see you are new to Unifi ;p 1
bald_pig Posted November 18, 2021 Posted November 18, 2021 Forgot, I'm also looking for a cheap Win10/11 laptop for myself!
Chaniel Posted November 18, 2021 Posted November 18, 2021 I just spent far too much money on a sim racing rig so I'm keeping my eyes peeled for a decent monitor and a VR headset.

Zoom7000 Posted November 18, 2021 Posted November 18, 2021 This year I want a 42-48" telly. Smart, 4K, HDR, 3/4 x hdmi etc. Decent energy rating and preferably < £300! Work your magic Edugeek! I'm also looking for a TV. 50" - 55" with similar specs. Also, it has to have the stand in the middle (not the 2 on either end) so that it'll fit my TV stand lol! an RRP 3080 please! You might have done this already, but put an alert on HotUKDeals. That's how I got my 3070 Founders Edition from Scan in August for £480 (inc delivery).

I currently have a tampermonkey script I wrote that refreshes the Nvidia site every 5 seconds and alerts me if it changes to in stock. Unfortunately bots had bought up all the cards by the time I got back to my pc on each occasion!
LeMarchand Posted November 19, 2021 Posted November 19, 2021 Managed to find what I hope will be a suitable processor on eBay. Spookily, from @VeryPC. Processor only but the stock cooler is too tall for my case, so not a problem. Shame the mobo they have up doesn't seem compatible. Also got 16GB RAM for a tad under £50 last night and, of course, saw some for £45 today. 3
Garacesh Posted November 19, 2021 Posted November 19, 2021 (edited) I think I'm on the hunt for a wifi access point and a PoE injector, this year. Because I refuse to use powerline adaptors. I do still have one from Meraki I was given years ago, which is theoretically OpenWRT compatible, but it's like 5 or 6 years old so I have no idea how it'll hold up with recent networking issues that've been discovered (eg bufferbloat) Edited November 19, 2021 by Garacesh
hallb15 Posted November 19, 2021 Posted November 19, 2021 Has anyone seen any good refurbished iPhone deals? I’m looking for an iPhone X for my daughter. Best I’ve found is £250 at music magpie. https://www.musicmagpie.co.uk/store/products/apple-iphone-xr-64gb-red-unlocked-c2c6e5f7-7f5f-49ad-b377-cbd561e9deb4
Andycat Posted November 22, 2021 Posted November 22, 2021 I'm after an iPhone SE for the Mother in Law if anyone sees a deal please!
Dos_Box Posted November 22, 2021 Author Posted November 22, 2021 I'm after an iPhone SE for the Mother in Law if anyone sees a deal please! The unnerving thing about BF and CM is that, do you wait unil Friday to grab the best deal then see it cheaper on Monday, or dive in for what is a resonable deal to miss a great one later?

I have bought one thing so far as it was £15 off but Amazon are good in the fact if the item goes cheaper on the actual BF and CM days then they will give you the extra discount if you question it. I did it last year on an item that was £50 off but then on CM it was £70 off so they refunded the £20 difference so it always worth questioning the company. 1

Does that apply to anything or just BF/CM deals? (Bought a Mobo and some RAM last week - though they were Warehouse Deals).
Dos_Box Posted November 22, 2021 Author Posted November 22, 2021 A good deal on the Adobe Photoshop and Premier Elements bundle @£79.99 here - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Adobe-Photoshop-Elements-Premiere-Activation/dp/B09G3MW2GK?ref_=Oct_DLandingS_D_f6d845ac_125&smid=AR9ZQCUDB1BRG&th=1

jthompson Posted November 22, 2021 Posted November 22, 2021 https://www.nokia.com/phones/en_gb/deals Nokia are offering £50 off their phones. About the only place to get phones based on Android One (i.e. crapless).

Always jump. You can always reorder at the better offer and return the original. Or you can negotiate the discount. 1
