This is available from VLSC now

MSI download for HEVC Video Extensions

We deployed via SCCM and can open them now. Having some issues with Photoshop (cs6) however.

What's the MSI called?

Went with deploying ImageGlass. Copying a pre made config file to appdata stops any setup pops ups when the app is launched for the first time.

For whatever reason I cannot see this!

EDIT: Or anything else - I just renewed the SA - probably related!

I had the same problem with recently renewing and viewing with an account that just has the new agreement (long story short - had to create a new account and have it linked due to changing reseller and them not really understanding it should just be continuous)... nothing in that list in the link (admin centre).

Log-in with the previous account and there is a full list of goodies (possibly from old agreements?)!

Also, is there HEIC as well as HEVC, I seem to remember they had to be done separately?

Actually I have to admit I didn't wait... it took 10 seconds for the page to refresh with all the downloads, but...

... when it did it only had the very bare minimum of what we are 'licensed' for, doesn't appear to be any 'extras' in there at all (all Desktop/Server OS, SQL and Office downloads).

By contrast the old log-in has all sorts of weird and wonderful stuff available to download...

Anyone been able to download this via VLSC recently? Been trying the last few weeks and keep getting an error with reaching the download/page once you try to download it

Assumed it'd end up fixing itself but still seems broken

This site can’t be reached

The web page at https SW_DVD5_HEVC_Codec_64BIT_MultiLang_-3_MLF_X22-99270.ISO etc might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.

ERR_INVALID_RESPONSE

I can’t get it either. [emoji31]

Well at least it's not just me then lol. Annoying that it isn't just a normal download when it's such a small download!

I also receive the ERR_INVALID_RESPONSE (although I didn't originally when I made the post above).

I did find a couple of workarounds however. :)

  • Leave the page with the ERR_INVALID_RESPONSE open for a few minutes. The browser will eventually download (or prompt to download) the ISO.
  • Copy and paste the full download URL into a brand new incognito window. Your browser should download the ISO straight away.

  • Thanks 1

Will give the first one a try as I tried Incognito and it just access denied for me, as guessing it didn't think it's logged in :p

Thanks,

I had to call them and get it added to my VLSC - my MAT central IT could see it, but I couldn't, something to do with it not being part of my package when I had my own VLSC in the name of the school rather than the MAT licence.

I don't suppose anyone who has this MSI might be willing to share...?

It's not on our VLSC, and when I asked VLSC support to add it, they said that it was only available by default to Enterprise Agreement customers, OVS customers needed to request it via their reseller. Naturally, my reseller has never heard of it, and doesn't have it on his list of products, paid or otherwise, to add to our agreement. And so it continues, round and round in circles.

We've just had some new iPads in school, and they're starting to chuck out HEIC images we can't read (I've set the cameras to most compatible now, but it's going to keep coming up), so it's pushing me to look at this again.

EDIT - I have a copy for testing now. Fingers crossed!

I would also be keen. I am still having trouble downloading it!

I can now open HEIC pictures! Time to deploy.

I rolled the MSI out to all of our workstations yesterday, it just works. None of this tedious mucking about with appx and Windows Store.
