Dos_Box Posted January 25, 2021 Author Posted January 25, 2021 I have to admit, I think we are haing a 'proper' winter for once. Lots of frosts, occasional snow and not too much rain. Nice 1
elsiegee40 Posted January 25, 2021 Posted January 25, 2021 Blue skies and sunshine. There’s still ice on our pond, but no snow. A really nice day about 8C here

Nice Not too much rain??!! Seriously??!!! I agree with the lots of frosts and occasional (very poor attempts at) snow, but we've had loads of torrential rain in Liverpool. Other places around the country have had it far worse than us. This photo, taken at Lunt Meadows a couple of weeks ago, shows the extent of the 'snow' near here. (Bonus points if you find Ciara the Patterdale hidden in this picture.) 4

I also followed the link - sounds like a nice place. One issue, you've self-incriminated yourself, either that or you have a very long lead . 1

One issue, you've self-incriminated yourself, either that or you have a very long lead . Hahaha! Actually, we were just emerging from Roughley's Wood, part of Sefton Meadows, which leads into Lunt Meadows, so were outside the gated 'Dogs must be on a lead' area. Well spotted, though!
mikeprice Posted January 25, 2021 Posted January 25, 2021 (edited) All pretty and white this morning - not real snow just kinda small flakey bits - but all over started to melt as soon as the Sun came out - couldn't go out for a bike ride due to a) possible ice on roads other than main roads b) flat tyre - investigation led to i) cut finger ii) discovery of (near the smear of blood) small and VERY SHARP piece of glass embedded in the 'puncture resistant' tyre rubber - constant cycle of it slicing into the tyre and the 'goo' (tyre sealant) fixing it - repeat until fixed so now Mrs mikeprice can go back to worrying I will go out and come back witha broken arm - again on which point - cycle helmet has a break - wonder if I have fallen off and bashed my head so badly I forgot about it might explain bit Edited January 25, 2021 by mikeprice
6Foot2 Posted January 30, 2021 Posted January 30, 2021 It's been raining quite heavily through the night and all morning. Now we are seeing a few (large) flakes of snow.

We live in hope [emoji23] We do indeed, I'm just glad I will actually be able to play about in it now! haha 1
Davit2005 Posted February 5, 2021 Posted February 5, 2021 (edited) Hopefully I'll pull my finger out and get out for my run on Saturday morning. A lot of fields near where I live are close to a river and are currently flooded, I've seen swans on a few and expecting to see no fishing signs pretty soon. Jus mostly inconvenience to vehicles and people using private roads and bridleways in between the fields, one so deep on Wednesday I couldn't actually run through it. A few sheep occasionally but they have been moved to higher ground, Edited February 5, 2021 by Davit2005
stevejp Posted February 5, 2021 Posted February 5, 2021 We live in hope [emoji23] ...but I thought you lived in Kent? (Well, someone had to...) 4
elsiegee40 Posted February 6, 2021 Posted February 6, 2021 @hardtailstar I shall sulk if you get proper snow and we get the usual dusting We are on the boundary of the amber warning.

Norphy Posted February 7, 2021 Posted February 7, 2021 We’ve got a bit of a flurry coming down here in leafy Beckenham. No sign of it settling but you never know I guess
6Foot2 Posted February 7, 2021 Posted February 7, 2021 North West Herts: Bright sunshine. Not a single flake. Chilly, though.
elsiegee40 Posted February 7, 2021 Posted February 7, 2021 There is white precipitation now. It’s somewhere between sleet and snow
6Foot2 Posted February 7, 2021 Posted February 7, 2021 Tiny snowflakes just started to fall (Not miniature versions of Nigel, Farage, Piers Morgan or Donald Trump before anyone makes that suggestion. )
free780 Posted February 7, 2021 Posted February 7, 2021 It snowed last night in Leeds and melted overnight. Its started snowing again finely.
