tmoon-mint Posted March 16, 2020 Posted March 16, 2020 Hi all, Looking at using Microsoft Teams for our distance learning strategy. Only problem is when a user logs in literally everything is missing, the only options they get are help and apps. Anyone know what could be going on? I have checked and everyone has Teams enabled for their accounts.
cw222 Posted March 16, 2020 Posted March 16, 2020 We've had this happen to our teams as of this morning. Not sure if it's a setting or an MS issue. Won't let me add any new apps into any teams (ie assignments, wiki etc) 1
pooley Posted March 16, 2020 Posted March 16, 2020 Following, have the exact same issue with a teachers account. I have removed and re-added the faculty license but no joy. 2
sjatkn Posted March 16, 2020 Posted March 16, 2020 My suspicion is that it's a Microsoft Problem related to a huge increase in usage. We lost all our tabs, except for Posts and Files, they just returned in the web browser version of Teams but not in the App (at least on MacOS). I've reported it to Microsoft in the Office 365 Service health portal as it's still showing as healthy when it's obviously not. There's a tread on Twitter ( ) about problems with messaging in Teams that has just been resolved ( ). 3

Users are now able to send and receive instant messages.Current status: We’ve identified that one of our dependent services is experiencing timeouts, which is impacting messaging scenarios. We’ve fixed the timeouts by load balancing the environment. We have also taken extra measures to mitigate impact, such as rerouting traffic and applying throttles to non-critical client-side APIs. While the service has mostly recovered, we’re taking precautions to make sure that the service remains healthy while we ease the throttling measures.Scope of impact: Your organization is affected by this event, and impacts any user who is served through the affected infrastructure.Next update by: Monday, March 16, 2020, 1:00 PM (1:00 PM UTC) 2
SteveM555 Posted March 16, 2020 Posted March 16, 2020 We also had the same issue, missing tabs/content - If you log out and back in it has been fixed for us now. 2
supportman Posted March 16, 2020 Posted March 16, 2020 We also had the same issue, missing tabs/content - If you log out and back in it has been fixed for us now. I'm guessing Microsoft have disabled them to help with load, logging back in has no effect for us. Waiting game I think on this one.... 1

3s-gtech Posted March 16, 2020 Posted March 16, 2020 Excellent work on out collective DDoS fellow Edugeeks! To be fair to MS, they’ve surely been diverting resources to this but the demand has been incredible. I’ve just asked all staff to log on to it - many will be for the first time so need provisioning on their systems.
chris11256 Posted March 16, 2020 Posted March 16, 2020 It was fixed for us but very intermittant. I'm trying to edit team owners through the admin portal and the vast majority of the time I search for a team it then errors when I click on it.
MYK-IT Posted March 16, 2020 Posted March 16, 2020 Similar issues here, intermittent issues within Teams Admin portal, with team names sometimes greyed out with exclamation mark next to it - the exact same issue we have had with one Team for 7 weeks now, and MS are still working on a resolution for.
msm1000 Posted March 16, 2020 Posted March 16, 2020 It did work for around an hour in the afternoon but stopped working for us again. Many options in the Teams Admin panel failing to load and messages failing to send in the Teams app. I logged a ticked this morning and no real update since. In the last 20 min or so, two Teams Incidents appeared in the O365 admin center - TM206556 and TM206559. Hopefully this is resolved soon!
supportman Posted March 17, 2020 Posted March 17, 2020 Seems to be fixed for us here as well now. And broken again!
craig2562 Posted March 17, 2020 Posted March 17, 2020 If it's like this with home workers imagine what it's going to be like when all the different schools start using it. I have advised my school to use various routes to learning and not be heavily reliant on MS Teams. We're in unprecedented times where the norm is no longer applicable.
ozydave Posted March 17, 2020 Posted March 17, 2020 Hello had this for 5 users today. The fix for me was, and it worked for all of them straight away was to remove the teams license, click save, then put the teams license back. Strange but done the trick All the best
kennysarmy Posted March 18, 2020 Posted March 18, 2020 I'm wondering if I've got this issue too. new to TEAMS setup. Created a test TEAM and added two members of staff, one sees the TEAM when he logs on but another member of staff can't...they get: https://teams.microsoft.com/_#/discover at this URL: Join a team Search teams Join a team with a code Enter code Join team The guy it works for does have pretty much all the MS O365 apps assigned to him, whereas the test account only has the ones I think are needed: Education Analytics Exchange Online (Plan 1) Microsoft Teams SharePoint Plan 1 for EDU Whiteboard (Plan 1) Microsoft Forms (Plan 2) Office 365 ProPlus Office for the web (Education) OneDrive for Business (Plan 1) Would she not be able to see the TEAMS I've assigned to her because I've done something wrong, because MS is playing up or I've not added a related APP?
kennysarmy Posted March 18, 2020 Posted March 18, 2020 How long does it typically take from giving the TEAMS licence to allow users to be able to create their own TEAMS?
kennysarmy Posted March 18, 2020 Posted March 18, 2020 OK I've cracked it. I needed to make everyone a member of the creators group I'd created last year!! https://docs.microsoft.com/en-gb/microsoft-365/admin/create-groups/manage-creation-of-groups?view=o365-worldwide

I tripped myself up having set it up only two days prior. #notgettingmuchsleeprightnow 1
