darkstar_bam Posted October 14, 2019 Posted October 14, 2019 Hi, Where do people order their toners from? We've been using a company for about a year but they have sadly shut down. Thanks
Disease Posted October 14, 2019 Posted October 14, 2019 We use a company called Silicon Alley, they provide all the ink/Toner we need to keep onsite free of charge, no upfront payment, you only pay for what you use when you send them your monthly stock-take. No contract either, it's great because when you no longer need the toner you just send it back as you have not paid for it in the first place, they do reman as well as originals. Brilliant service and reasonably priced as well. Inkwell | Silicon Alley 2
AJWhite1970 Posted October 14, 2019 Posted October 14, 2019 I've always used Ken at Tonercare, excellent service http://www.tonercare.co.uk 1
Rob_D Posted October 14, 2019 Posted October 14, 2019 Before we moved to a leasing contract, I used IDNS. Good price and good service (no quibbles when we inadvertently got 6 yellows). And I was always impressed at the quality of their remanufacutred (HP) cartridges. 1
hardtailstar Posted October 14, 2019 Posted October 14, 2019 We use Toner Giant Always quick and easy search function too 1

Brilliant service and reasonably priced as well. Inkwell | Silicon Alley We're a Silicon Alley school too, there's no argument that they've got this whole process down to a T. They'll supply boxes for empties and organise free, scheduled collections too. We have however had some quality concerns over the recent year which can cause work, but I suspect this could be an issue elsewhere also. Prices aren't as cheap as can be sourced alternatively, but the premium may be worth it for the ease of use. 1
StevieM Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 (edited) Another +1 for Silicon Alley. The 'pay only for what you use' aspect makes the small premium worthwhile. I've recently had to write off £500+ of toner for printers that we no longer use*. EDIT: *That we purchased outright before we started to use the Silicon Alley Inkwell service. Edu-IT Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 We use Cartridge Save. https://www.cartridgesave.co.uk 1
Bompalompalomp Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 I mix and match between suppliers who are able to stay competitive and provide best value. I have had no issue with https://pwdsupplies.co.uk/ or https://refreshcartridges.co.uk/ at all, great suppliers. 1
Syman_a Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 I use Infotone for the few toners we buy. always seem tpo be on the ball price wise, and they take our empties for free 1
mikeprice Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 do these people take any toners?? places I have dealt with in the past have been happy to take branded ones (HP and stuff) but not very keen on the generic ones unless it is their own brand

HTCPCP Posted October 21, 2019 Posted October 21, 2019 IDNS and Cartridgesave are the main 2 I use. With recycling through IDNS who send us a box. They haven't said they don't like the toners we send them (mix of Konica MFP, Dell Laser and Epson cartidiges).
CHiLL Posted October 21, 2019 Posted October 21, 2019 (edited) The majority of our printers are on a lease contract, which includes the toners. So our ordering of replacement inks/toners is extremely low as we don't have many non-contract printers. When we do buy, we used to use IJT (InkJets and Toners)/MakeITGreen. Their prices were always good and I can't remember the last time we had an issue with a toner/ink from them. However our account manager is extremely persistent and regularly calls asking if we need to buy anything...despite being told about our current printing solution and lack of purchasing. They call so frequently and don't get the massage that it's put us off buying from them and would look elsewhere. They haven't actually called much recently, but we'd probably go with IDNS in future, should we need to buy any...I don't want to remind our account manager that we exist... Perhaps if you were to actually give them the massage, they might stop calling so often...? (Well, someone had to say it... and if it hadn't been me, it would have been @mikeprice)

HTCPCP Posted October 22, 2019 Posted October 22, 2019 We do! Every time! I've never had a more persistent account manager. Yeah, they do seem to think that people eat toners and need new ones every couple of days... That being said, the last time I bought a load, they did seem to run out abnormally quickly compared to how long they normally last. But as a result, I have stopped using them, and haven't introduced them to my new place in the last 2 years.
stevejp Posted October 22, 2019 Posted October 22, 2019 We do! Every time! I've never had a more persistent account manager. Isn't it embarrassing when you have to explain a joke...?
CHiLL Posted October 23, 2019 Posted October 23, 2019 Isn't it embarrassing when you have to explain a joke...? Sassypants. 1

We've had IJT call us as well. None of their "best" prices beat our existing ones, and when I told them so they requoted twice after telling me they were providing their best. And those still weren't able to beat our existing prices, and their warranty deal was worse than our existing anyway. Really aggressive cold-callers.
