So as its near 2019 I'd thought i'd see if anyone is setting themselves challenges for 2019?

So for 2018 I challenged myself to:

1 - Not drink fizzy drinks for the year

2 - Raise money for charity

So far I have raised almost £1000 for different charities. I know its not as much as i'd like but happy with the amount I have done.

Also im days away from not having a fizzy drink all year.

So who completed challenges this year and what have you got planned for next year?

Continue to try to be a lot healthier, controlling my portions, learning to have patience with my food. Lost 1.5 stone so far in a month doing just that.

Try to stress out a lot less about things (This will be hard!) I saw a quote the other day that summed me up totally... "I stress about stress before there is even stress to stress about because I am stressed about the stress that I will inevitably have soon!"

Go to Scotland by motorbike again… but this time even more north… Inverness (I think)… all the way from Guildford. Probably spend a couple of weeks touring as well…

Build a trailer to tow behind the motorbike… so my camping gear is lower down, more secure, more balanced… and possibly be able to ride 2-up…

Lose 2 stone (again), I was svelte 3 years ago, having lost 4 stone (but now I seemed to have regained most of it)… but at least it's possible!

Find a riding companion… either with machine or without… the trick is to "get out there!"

Find a better job, more money (than present)… these projects require funding…

Personal - Make more effort to see friends, life and family seem to continuously get in the way.

Fitness - Signed up for Half Ironman in June, Long Course Weekend in July (Full ironman over 3 days), have 3 marathons penciled in and would like to try and fit in my 1st ultra before the end of 2019.

I spent the start of 2018 in a lot of pain with my back and a frozen shoulder. My target for this year has been to get fit again and to avoid shoulder surgery scheduled for October if at all possible.

Thanks to me being anal about swimming three times a week and doing the physio's exercises and yoga, I have avoided surgery and some of the weight put on when I couldn't move has come off.

Next year's target is lose the rest of that weight, avoid stuffing my back again and continue with the swimming, etc in the hope of getting the full range of movement back in my shoulder 🤞
