mikeprice Posted November 12, 2018 Posted November 12, 2018 I think this is the first competition I have entered where Time Travel is SPECIFICALLY mentioned and banned in the rules That probably says something about a) Dave b) Edugeek people 2
mikeprice Posted November 12, 2018 Posted November 12, 2018 I can confirm that todays submission did not use the TARDIS. Can not comment on tomorrow's yet OK - but has an entry been submitted next Friday yet 2

He's having too much fun with his DeLorean. 2
bald_pig Posted November 12, 2018 Posted November 12, 2018 I have an old copy opened, it's not there I'm afraid! 2
DJ-1701 Posted November 12, 2018 Posted November 12, 2018 I have an old copy opened, it's not there I'm afraid! So wait... you travelled back to the old rules that were posted at an older time? Does that count as Time Travel? 1
mikeprice Posted November 12, 2018 Posted November 12, 2018 HA - BUSTED rules have clearly been altered for comic effect - I mean - to take care of problems that have arisen that were unforeseen p.s. how to you do strike though on edugeek???? 2
ICTDirect_Dave Posted November 12, 2018 Author Posted November 12, 2018 HA - BUSTED rules have clearly been altered for comic effect - I mean - to take care of problems that have arisen that were unforeseen p.s. how to you do strikethrough on edugeek???? I'm just covering my own backside. I don't want any unforeseen paradox accidentally erasing history in some kind of vain attempt to alter the course of the competition. 2
Dos_Box Posted November 12, 2018 Posted November 12, 2018 Why do you think @Dos_Box hasn't entered? He's having too much fun with his DeLorean. I had to replace that with a Mondeo a bit back. Sadly the demands of children and luggage made the DeLorean impractical Not to mention the fuel costs! 2

mikeprice Posted November 12, 2018 Posted November 12, 2018 (edited) I go away for a few hours and all hell breaks loose! When have you been?? and more importantly - what entries have you been trying to submit????? Edited November 12, 2018 by mikeprice 2
Primus Posted November 12, 2018 Posted November 12, 2018 I'm using a 6th Gen Core i5 box with only 8gb of RAM and a 256Gb SSD with additional graphics card for 3 screens. I need so much more RAM but it's DDR4 and only has 2 slots which are both filled so it's expensive to upgrade and I'd have to do the Network Manager and the IT Manager's identical PCs too 1
DJ-1701 Posted November 12, 2018 Posted November 12, 2018 @ICTDirect_Dave The first person who spots this rule and announces so 'In Thread' earns a bonus entry. I spotted this. 1
ICTDirect_Dave Posted November 12, 2018 Author Posted November 12, 2018 @ICTDirect_Dave I spotted this. Quick work there! I rather thought it would take a little longer than that! 1
FishCustard Posted November 12, 2018 Posted November 12, 2018 I've got a 7th gen i5 with 8 GB RAM and an SSD. Nice enough, but I want/need to run Visual Studio, Photoshop, mremoteNG with various connections open, Chrome with two windows and about 128 tabs, Outlook (bleh), the Powershell ISE (x2 at the moment!), and various other programs (ID card printer, etc.). Oh, and I need a third screen! 1
DJ-1701 Posted November 12, 2018 Posted November 12, 2018 Quick work there! I rather thought it would take a little longer than that! Helps when you have a time...... I mean take the time to ensure you follow the rules. 2

ICTDirect_Dave Posted November 13, 2018 Author Posted November 13, 2018 You spelt my surname wrong! You know it's in my signature right? 1

ICTDirect_Dave Posted November 13, 2018 Author Posted November 13, 2018 Okay. So, I figure it's time you met some more of the team. You all know John & I, but there are many more people behind the scenes who make sure we have stock available, build your orders and fix things when there are problems. Here are your first three. http://www.ict-direct.co.uk/media/edugeek/TT.JPG This is TT. He is our heavy-metal loving chief engineer and is the person who fixes up machines whenever they develop a fault. What he can't do with a soldering iron and a set of dentistry tools isn't worth knowing. He's requested that somebody put him in a Hatebreed video. http://www.ict-direct.co.uk/media/edugeek/SimonK.JPG This is Simon. He is our cleaning and grading maestro and makes sure that only the top-quality kit gets assigned to ICT Direct. As you can see, he's very excitable, and loves nothing more than throwing himself and his bike down a punishing descent in the dead of winter! http://www.ict-direct.co.uk/media/edugeek/AndyG.JPG Finally, we have Andy. He runs the inbound operations side of things, constantly making sure that the never-ending flow of stock bought by our trade team makes it onto the system so I can sell it. He's never without a smile, even when you ask him to process a couple of thousand machines contrary to his carefully structured processing schedule. All top blokes and all totally aware of what might happen to their faces now that they're displayed in this thread. Do with them what you will - Probably best to keep it (pretty) clean mind 2
DJ-1701 Posted November 13, 2018 Posted November 13, 2018 I can't help but think that TT should be adopting the post Andy is making... 1
ICTDirect_Dave Posted November 13, 2018 Author Posted November 13, 2018 I can't help but think that TT should be adopting the post Andy is making... Haha! If it was up to me, we'd all have had our pictures taken in that pose. But sadly it wasn't to be. 1
Boredguy Posted November 13, 2018 Posted November 13, 2018 Quick work there! I rather thought it would take a little longer than that! Why when he had all week to read it and then post it back today? 2
