Is there such a thing?

Something to log jobs for the family.

hopefully it can:

log jobs

have a deadline (although not too bothered)

Email the user that logs the job once completed.

able to write notes within it.

I use Google tasks to put anything in when im asked to do it but often forget to tell my parents ive done it.

My better half logs jobs, has deadlines for them, lets me know when they're not completed and writes notes to remind me...

I think she qualifies as a helpdesk.

Yup, it's called "a whiteboard in the kitchen".

We havent got space for one of them...

Yep serious. Just something looking into. If there isn't then I'll find a different way.

I use Google Keep for stuff like this.

Even the shopping lists.

Thats an idea. I can share the note with parents and tick off the items.

I'll probably do that if cant find anything else

We have an understanding that writing jobs down in anything that could be construed as a list is a sure fire way to guarantee it doesn't get done. It took a few years to get there, but I'm very rarely left a list any more [emoji16]
Spiceworks? You'd need a little box that would always be on, though.
There's an app for that [emoji6] .

So... I can't help but wonder what jobs you're doing at home that require a technological solution to keep track of them? :)

I do all the tech support and DIY as my Dad cant physically do it.

My memory is rubbish so thought could have something on my phone as all my other stuff is on it.

My wife sometimes shares Keep notes with me, which works really well for shopping lists, birthday present suggestions, etc.

We put up a big magnetic chalkboard in our kitchen for household reminders, pinning up little bits of paperwork, etc. It works really well (with some nice strong magnets) but we probably doodle on it more than anything. Coloured chalk is a really fun medium, it turns out!

We buy a couple of office 365 business subscription so I can mess around with it and we can both share calendars. We use the planner tool for this which is included.

For shopping we use out of milk, it appears to have a to do list as well, but never used it myself.

I use google keep for notes both at work and home. Google tasks may also be an option. I've not used it for years, it appears to be redone or just more prominent with the gmail update.

Google calendar can send email notifications.
