ICTDirect_Dave Posted June 13, 2018 Posted June 13, 2018 I got my family to club together and get me a nice guitar I'd wanted for a while.
MatthewL Posted June 13, 2018 Posted June 13, 2018 Mines in a few months, I'm going for money towards my class 2 license! Anything you want? New watch? At the end of the day age is only a number!

elsiegee40 Posted June 13, 2018 Posted June 13, 2018 You always go for something more altruistic. Is there a charity you favour? Getting something, or just a donation, towards a local wildlife sanctuary, hospice or other cause of your choice instead 1
MatthewL Posted June 13, 2018 Posted June 13, 2018 Just saying that was something I was wanting to do to help with plans later in life. Have you got anything you are wanting to do/start up/hobby i.e. photography, a sport i.e. biking/golf etc?

TTG_Alice Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 Ask for an experience. A weekend trip away, spa day, a creative workshop or cooking class? 1
jonrose Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 Ask for an experience. A weekend trip away, spa day, a creative workshop or cooking class? I was in a similar position of not wanting anything in particular for a gift. I ended up diving with sharks (https://www.blueplanetaquarium.com/diving-with-sharks/shark-encounter-dive/) as it's something I've always wanted to do. 1
Fazza Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 How about one of these: https://eumerch.bethesda.net/en/collectibles/statues-busts/774-fallout-4-statue-vault-boy-life-size 1
TechMonkey Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 I would second an experience. I'm moving more that way for birthdays and Christmas. Recently did a Blacksmithing day that was brilliant. Made a toasting fork with a curly end and a rubiks pattern, and a viking knife. Great day out doing something I wouldn't do normally but always had a fancy for. If I remember your rough location right, the one I did would be ideal for you, give or take some travel. Otherwise what about something towards an annual pass to somewhere you enjoy, Wildlife Trust membership, National Trust membership or one of the museums that give you a years access for ticket entry like Chatham docks? Something you can do and reuse? 1
Katy Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 Third (or is it fourth)-ing an experience. My 30th birthday present from work was a gliding lesson, wasn't asked what I wanted they just surprised me with it (knowing that I love rollercoasters so would probably love being flung into the air in a glider plane... they were correct) 1
TTG_Alice Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 Here is a great website for craft courses across the U.K - https://www.craftcourses.com 2
hardtailstar Posted June 14, 2018 Author Posted June 14, 2018 Try Dive? (scuba) Already been many times with Scouts

crc-ict Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 I had an hour experience 'flying' a Boeing 737 simulator for my 30th. Was great. If you are at all interested in that sort of thing, a trial flying lesson is a good experience gift too. Only risk with that is that if you are like me, you'll find yourself trying to think up ways to raise the £10k needed to take it further!
TechMonkey Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 have you got a link? @TechMonkeyhttps://kaosblacksmiths.com Food is fantastic for lunch. Pub is an Aladdins cave of oddities and the guy who runs it is fantastically interesting. They do a general day, knife day and an axe weekend. He also has axe throwing range there. Book ASAP as they get booked up well in advance.

Tech1 Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 I'm 30 next month and I'm hoping for a weekend away somewhere. Would of liked a new watch but it's not happening (get your tiny violins out) 1
