  1. I've raised a formal complaint with Bromcom on behalf of my schools. This level of outage with no apparent fail safes in place is completely unacceptable. Information on how to raise a complaint can be found here - https://docs.bromcom.com/knowledge-base/how-to-raise-a-complaint-about-bromcoms-products-or-services/
  2. I would be very interested to know what work was done over the weekend. As a new school that's just migrated to Bromcom, with last week being our first official week, this has been highly disappointing.
  3. Just received an update.
  4. Not had any complaints here yet. The Bromcom status page is still showing 100% server degradation and although they said they were working on it all weekend the last update we received was on the 5th.
  5. Very sad news indeed, but I hate the way they've worded the headline.

  7. I would mimic what others have said as well and wait a while before rolling it out into your environment. I'm sure I am not the only person in the position but we have around 450 workstations here and none of them are compatible with Windows 11.
  8. Well from past experience, saying no to SLT is never a good idea. Anyway, we've had to do a similar thing but we've simply uploaded the videos to our YouTube channel unlisted, and then posted the links for the relevant year groups on our website for parents to view if they wish to do so.
  9. We use iVMS here and need to give the end-user full permission over the iVMS folder within Program Files, for it to work.

  11. I use Every at my school. We used to have Every for the site team and SysAid for IT. From a financial and end-user experience point of view it made sense to go with one system. The help desk within Every is just one module of many, so I'm going to presume that your SLT have other ideas in mind. Overall it's a system that works well for us, have fantastic support and appears to work really well.
  12. Are you sure it's not already enabled by default. I've just checked mine (had a panic after seeing your question) and they are all already enabled.
  13. Oh I see. Many thanks for pointing that out.
  14. Hi ibpalle, thanks for the response. I have now resolved the issue and wanted to post here just in case it helped anyone else in the future - Within the GPO for the affected users (in my case it was the Teachers) User Configuration – Policies – Administrative Templates – System – Scripts, I set “Run legacy logon scripts hidden” and “Run logon scripts synchronously” to Not configured. This then matched up with the two other main GPOs that I use (Students and Support Staff)
  15. Did you ever manage to get this issue resolved? We are having the exact same problem here now. When students login it works perfectly fine, but when a member of staff logs in, after around 3 minutes it just drops off to Unauthenticated IP.

    Tucasi

I have decided to join Virgin Media Business for the Internet line and Smoothwall for the filtering system. All being well this will all be going live next month. If you would like to speak to anyone at either of these companies, please send me a PM and I'll send over some contact details.

I am indeed with SchoolsBroadband (Until the end of next month anyway). Another user has replied with the same instructions I received. In the end Tucasi asked for a ticket reference number and contact details for SchoolsBroadband so they could contact them and deal with it directly. After this everything seemed to be working fine again, and still is today.

We've also had big issues with Tucasi over the last week. It has only today that the issues have been resolved. I'm not sure if this is any help to you or not but we where told by Tucasi that the issue was actually with our ISP and changes needed to be made at the ISP level. After sending over those instructions and a couple of phone calls later the issue was resolved. Just a shame that it took a week!
  19. Anybody else still having issues? We have the full school back in today and rather than having positve responses over the 7 weeks worth of work that's been done during the summer I am getting complaints about the Internet having Intermittant issues. I have raised a ticket with SB.
  20. I'm 30 next month and I'm hoping for a weekend away somewhere. Would of liked a new watch but it's not happening (get your tiny violins out)
  21. I've recently used both SysAid and Every and both are fantastic helpdesks. Not cheap I'm afraid, but you get what you pay for.
  22. +1 for School Booking as well. Used them for many years now. Excellent support and relatively cheap, even with the SIMS module added on as well.
  23. We are currently investigating moving over to SIMS Agora, and I believe it has the option built in to allow parents to purchase items through the online portal.
  24. You can't go wrong with either console to be honest. Like others have said it's best to take a look at the exclusives and see which ones you prefer. And although this wasn't an option, I can't recommend the Switch enough. It's had some incredible games released for it this year, plus you have the added benefit of it being portable if you needed it to be.
