Hi all,

How does your school deal with staff notices/bulletins?

We are looking to move from a large PDF of notices sent out weekly.

Is there anything good in O365? Share points, teams, yammer?

Thanks!

Just a basic web page that we update twice a week for staff briefings and an email for weekly bulletings.

Oh wow, should have expected this sort of thing would roll in. We have a piece of paper pinned to the staff room notice board summarising the Monday staff briefing. Doesn't even get emailed round.

(I also get to use the "paper" response when people ask about visitor signing in systems, we've got a paper book)

Thanks. Is the web page secure? Login required etc?

Haha makes our weekly emailed PDF document seem like light years ahead of its time

Well I'll watch this thread with interest - both the deputy heads are retiring/leaving at the end of this year and being replaced by someone a bit more tech friendly, so might be able to push for something a lot better than the piece of paper, especially as they're wanting to improve internal communication as it was remarked as being poor in the last staff survey.

Thanks everyone, I like the web page idea but hosted internally means it can only be read when in school so that's a disadvantage to our current method.

Let's see if others have any snazzy way of doing it?

Just a weekly Google Doc here in a Team Drive that all staff have read only access to. New doc each week and the old ones are kept for 12 months in an archive folder.

When our DH started a year ago, the first thing she got rid of was the paper "whats happening this week" doc.

Staff are encouraged to look on the calendar. A brief overview is written on the staff notice board every day - as are any important notices which are also emailed

We have a daily bulletin that is emailed round to staff (just in the body of the email) and a weekly headlines that is on the website for all to see, for which a link is emailed to staff, students and parents if they opt in.

We have a weekly bulletin that is e-mailed out each friday for the following week.

Key dates for the diary, annoucements, teaching and learning section etc. It's generally 3 or 4 pages long.... I imagine the front page gets read but not so much the other pages.

When I started 7 years ago, setting up a "digital staff notice board" was on my job description. Turned out it was just something someone thought sounded progressive and no one actually wanted...

We have made some progress - we now have a weekly "diary dates" meeting on a Friday, after which the electronic diary (woop) is updated..... And then printed out and distributed [emoji17]

We have the calendar with dairy dates kind of things on iSAMS rather than printed out and also linked onto the website, I thought this was more things like "so-and-so's grandmother has died, they might be upset" or "I'm taking Year 11 out on a trip so sorry about them missing your lessons" - which we have in a weekly briefing then minuted and stuck on the noticeboard.

Yes i feel your pain.... I was tasked with the same job several years ago. Put up two computers and monitors in reception driving xibo which still to this day has the stock ppt I uploaded on day 1 with different colour slides saying this monitor is awaiting content.

The publications manager was trained to use it. Several months later when reminded several times and understand this is from the person who tasked me to do it decided she didn’t care about it and was no longer her responsibility.

Reason I haven’t taken it down is because it fulfils some fire reg notification when we perform fire alarm tests every Friday morning

Admittedly it would look really good if they actually used it. God only know what waiting parents and staff must think.
