I've just started testing the new version and the Exit Passcode box is sitting behind the ExamWritePad software so I can't enter the passcode. I can press alt + tab to try switch but it always goes behind the software.

Ok fixed, new build on its way in a few mins

The candidate information in the file name on first save only works if you go to Save As and doesn't put in the information if they're prompted to save - for example, saving after they've entered their candidate info.

Edit: The passcode on exit is now working. A very small thing about the box is you can't press Enter on the keyboard to confirm. You have to click it with your mouse.

How do you mean exactly, can you give me a step by step account so I can trace back the logic. Thanks

In the config file I have

1

1

This asks the candidate to save as soon as they finish entering their info. This save prompt doesn't auto populate the filename with their information.

Let me know if you need more information.

Another small tweak would be to add an X(Close) button on the Passcode to Exit box in case they click the close button by accident. The only way to close the box is to enter the incorrect password (or correct password which will close it but they might not want to close it).

Good point! Will do :-)

Don’t worry about posting over Xmas, I’m all ears and will respond ASAP especially if plan on using EWP with mocks during Jan 2018.

Nice new version!

Only something minor:-

If you press Open and then press cancel, after the Cancelled popup box you then get a further Error popup box.

This mentions String reference not set to an instance of a String. Parameter name: s.

So I get this right, open EWP, click file then Open then Cancel, get error message.

I will take a look :-)

Thanks for the fix!

I also just noticed if AutoSave path is enabled but the folder does not exist, it will error about trying to save when using File, Exit.

This is correct first of all but the program does not actually close after the error message.

You therefore get stuck unless using something like Task Manager to close the program.

Does it only happen on File -> Exit?

If that is the case what I will do is to check the auto save path exists then check if writable then if yes, save file or if no default to desktop.

I will sort out tomorrow as I’m out today and have it ready before Xmas.

We plan on using it for our own mocks first week back so will get our own feedback soon :-)

Sometimes you get a Net Framework crash afterwards, which lets you close the program instead that way.

The main issue is with the File, Exit option as I am testing this out on a blank document.

Have a nice Xmas! :)

I cant seem to get it to crash. I have set the DefaultSavePath to "B:" which doesnt exist, launched the software, typed into the main window, click on File then Exit, it offers to Save, I say yes and because the DefaultSavePath doesnt exist it reverts to Desktop.

What is you full step by step and config file might be useful for this if you could send it.

Not sure if this is my printer but we have students change to Bold when they are in their extra time (SEN students). When we print their work it doesn't print in bold but on the ExamWritePad software it is displayed in bold. Again, might be our printer but not got any others to test.

Ok so I have sorted out the issue and yes it is a bug. What I was doing is setting the font for printing after setting the text for printing, thus is resets an formatting optionsd like UNderline, bold etc..

Have now set the font first, then setting the text to print now retains the formatting.

I will post a new update.......soon..........very soon..........how about now?
