Would it also be possible to be able to enter text in the Centre Number field? For Cambridge International Examinations, the Centre Number starts with two letters, e.g. DE151. It would also be extremely useful to be able to use TABS and bullet points.

Hi,

Have you tried entering the centre number in the config file with letters? It should work as the centre number text box on screen will not allow letters on key press. So if you put it in the config file, it will be ok.

Bullet points can be used, just enable them in the config file.

Tab, I’m pretty sure cant be used.

Thank you so much for your rapid reply. It is really helpful. What I would really like to be able to do is have two options for the centre number text box. One allowing the CIE format (e.g. DE151) and one for the International Baccalaureate format (e.g. 004378). I have tried copying changing the config file in the same manner as the Exam Board by entering both centre numbers separated with a semi-colon, but that doesn't work. Is there an easy way to do this? I could, of course, just set it up differently on different laptops instead.

I will see what it can do to allow multiple centre numbers :-)

Great work on the software. It's reduced my headaches during Examination periods immensely.

We've had one feature request which I thought I'd run past you.

Our Exams Office has asked if it's possible to print the CIE Word Processor Cover Sheet as well as the JCQ sheet if the candidate has selected CIE as the Exam Board?

http://www.cambridgeinternational.org/images/86448-word-processor-cover-sheet-exam-day-form-5.pdf

Not a problem, I will add it to the list, as it takes some time but essentially, which ever board you select at print will print off the correct coversheet.

I will let you know via this forum once done.

First of all I'd like to say thank you for such an excellent piece of software!!

I do apologise if it's just me losing my marbles but I could of sworn when I tested this a month ago a user had to enter in their name etc before starting to type for the exam and then their info automatically displayed on every new page. That is no longer happening and the candidate box only appears when clicking print. However their info still doesn't appear on the header/footer. I have checked the config file and that looks good - such as show candidate info screen on launch. Only difference since my original test that worked is we are now using Windows 10 ver 1709.

Any ideas?

Hi,

that is strange, I'm now developing and testing on win 10 1709 and have no issues so far, but I have a new version coming out this weekend, so it worth a try with this one.

Just out on interest what is printing on the header footer, anything?

make sure "DisableHeaderOnPrint" is set to 0 and the "HeaderOffset" is set to 0 in the config.

Hi, Thanks for your quick response.

It does actually print on the paper so that's fine, I was sure it appeared on the screen before but as long as it prints on the paper that's perfect.

The Candidate Info box only appears when I click print and doesn't appear on startup. Config is currently set as -

I know that was working before. I have tested it on several machines including a fresh build of Win 10 1709 without anything else installed.

Thanks :)

We're on Win10 1709 and don't have this issue. It's working okay for me.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe it needs latest .net framework which won't work on XP, I was about to try this out myself though

Hi Caffrey, I did try it quickly today and it failed to run. Our exam laptops run a basic XP locked down using SteadyState. Worked well for us for many years but some students are even struggling to save the text file to the only location available to them.

Hi all,

Yes it will run on Windows XP as it requires .net 4.0

one reason I haven’t moved up the frameworks to 4.5 or 4.6 or 4.7

But on the same not I won’t be testing it on XP, just windows 7 and 10 moving forward.

As far I’m concerned, I will hold off upgrading the framework as long as I can, likely to be after summer exams 2019.

On a different note, new version this weekend, and, if you ever have issues big or small, drop them in here and I will do my best to investigate and fix them :-)

Thanks for the new version.

The candidate info box is now appearing but it won't let me continue when pressing the green button and the button is behind the text. (See Pic)

Can't do anything at this point so have to close it from task manager.
