Great piece of software, thanks for the time you've put into this!

Couple of questions:

1) In screen options> Background/fonts - it says at the bottom the settings do NOT apply to printing, however when tested here, they print exactly as shown, so if the font size is changed to 30 in screen options, it prints that size too.

2) The pre-filled file name takes the details from candidate info, is there somewhere I can change this to include the subject field? Our exams officer suggested this might be helpful for mocks without defining numbers.

With regards to #1 I will take a look, see what is going on.

Number #2 I will see what I can do but shouldn’t be a problem :-)

Glad you are enjoying the software! [emoji1303]

Just been looking into this software to replace our previous method of locking down Windows XP using SteadyState and only allowing Notepad to be used.

We have had a request from our SENCO for the ability to zoom into a single line of text to prevent distractions. Is this possible?

As Comicmankev pointed out above, modified fonts are printed out.

I’ll take a look at your requests and bugs, I suspect the single line zoom is not possible because of the limitations of .net framework and richtext library.

Hi All,

is there any package or installer for this? as I have the Exams department chasing this, and when I copy the files to the machines or run from a network drive all works fine as an Admin, and runs the first time as a student but then after the initial run it crashes out every time after.

I am an RM CC4 Network, any help on this would be much appreciated... Failing that they will just have to use Notepad.

Thanks

Jon

Hi Jon

Can you send over your config file just to see if I can offer advice based on options you have changed.

Thanks

I wasn't aware that I needed to change any settings, so just run the .exe from the download that I copied to c:\Temp.

You are quite right which tells me that domain users or everyone groups might not have write access to the “C:\ProgramData” folder which is the default.

Spot on, Thanks for the quick response. This solved my issue.

I have fixed issue 1, and added in number 2 as part of the default save name. New version will be out with these changes soon :-)

Unfortunately, I cannot get a single line zoom with the limitations of .net and the RTF library I use. It may have been possible via a more commercial package but then I would have to charge, which I dont want to do :-)

After a document is printed, the double line spacing is removed on screen. It does still appear when printed.

Hi,

Can you provide me with more detail to your issue please? for example, do you start with single line on screen but print double?

Thanks

New version out below:

2.1.1.9

Added - Default Filename for any new file you wish to save now includes the Candidate Subject, in addtion to the Candidate Name, Number and Unit Code.

2.1.1.8

Fixed - Screen fonts/Colours use to apply on printouts, this has been fixed and no longer applies to printing.

2.1.1.7

Added - New config option added "ClearClipboardOnLaunch", so that if anyone manage to access files in order to attempt to cheat by copying and pasting, setting this option will clear the clipboard buffer at startup.

Thank you so much for all the hard work you have put in to this software @ass17, our Exams Officer and Invigilators love it, our SEN staff think it is ace and the pupils are responding really well to it. We have made it available on our VLE and are encouraging them to use it at home/on BYO Devices. Us IT lot think it is fab too as it has taken away many areas of pain. The recent version releases have some awesome features too and we'll be deploying that for our Y11 mocks in a few weeks.

:D

How is the piece for extra time coming along? That is one thing our SEN dept and pupils would find extremely helpful if you are still able to offer it.

Thanks once again :)

Thanks for your kind words, it make doing this project worth while.

I’ve had a good look at your request and due to the limitations of .net and the richtextbox library, it is not possible to do it.

But I never say never, so to best understand what you want. Can I ask a few questions:

1. Why do you need to know what was done in extra time, what is the point?

2. How would you expect extra time look/function based on question 1?

I think if I can get a feel for what is required and can come up with a method which in turn will highlight pitfalls, I can give a definitive yes/no to this feature....

Regards

Andy

This is something we require also. It's not a major thing as we currently ask our SEN students to change their font to bold when they go into extra time. We do this as our SENCO requested it. I think she uses it to provide evidence of some sort.

I want to say that I love this program. We just started using it for the exams and it is working great. I had an issue where the JCQ Form 4 is not always printed out. Sometimes it does, other times it does not. Anyone has a similar issue? Thanks.

Thanks for the great feedback.

Can you tell me does the JCQ form always print off if you run the software, print off then close software, re-open software, print off then close software etc etc

Or do you keep the software open all day for multiple print offs in a given day?

Just trying to build a picture :-)

It seems to be random. As we remove the Internet and printers from the exam computer, the file is copied to a USB drive. So, the file is saved, closed, and copied to a USB. I put the USB into another computer that has the software and print from that machine. Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not. Today, for example, I am 1 for 2 (worked once out of two different exam sessions). Not a major issue, more of an FYI.
