  1. Is it down for everyone today? Their status page still has it as fully operational.
  2. After seeing your message I checked, ours is down too, a useful '404 - File or directory not found' https://status.schoolcloud.co.uk/ suggests all is well, I'm sure that will change!
  3. Last email I had from them said this 'After reporting this on to our 2ndline team, I am afraid they haven't been able to see any issues happening on the back-end which might be causing this issue from our side. They have suggested testing to see if clearing cache and cookies alleviates the problem however'. I suspect they have an expiry set for SSO which differs from the standard length of time. Anyone experiencing the issue here is able to use it okay after 1-3 days. If they have sorted it at their end then it should resolve after the existing certificates expire. I've only had one report of it since Christmas so I'm hoping it's resolved now.
  4. I received a generic response after 5 days to which they said: We are looking into this issue though and I have reported this on to our 2ndline team to investigate. If this is still occurring for you, could I confirm if this is happen across all browsers? After responding to that and complaining about response times they quickly said: I am sorry for the response time currently, we are working through as fast as possible but I understand the impact this is having. As I mentioned this has been reported to our 2ndline team so I will give you an update as soon as I can with this. I had received a calls earlier in the week whereby users had reported this same issue occurring with chrome but not edge. As this issue appears to be intermittent, I know this isn't conclusive and certainly not ideal for a wider workaround I know but though it might be worth asking for reporting purposes. I'll follow this up tomorrow morning and and report back. I'm not holding my breath 'this morning' but I'll update if there's any useful response.
  5. Did you find this resolved the issue? It's been on and off here for over a year, different PCs, different screens etc. Definitely PowerPoint related but the 'do not allow PowerPoint to automatically extend' setting does not fix it, that's been enabled for a while. 3 different staff members have specifically reported this to happen after PowerPoint is run, the 2nd display is 'freezed', and then they press escape to get out of PP. Not sure if the 'freeze' button on a display can have any impact, but they all reported this. As I say, this has taken over a year to get 3 people saying the same, 2 of which say it is replicable on their account.
  6. I'd like access too please, my colleague DM'd a week ago but has yet to hear!
  7. An Alt-Tab allows the button to be pressed if you keep holding alt-tab. My trouble is demonstrating to the sometimes non-computer literate invigilators that change by the hour. We have mocks running at the mo, so don't want to mess with the machines right now, but I think they're free this afternoon so I can give it a test then, although it does seem to be so intermittent that I'll find it hard to replicate. It has happened twice this morning though so we shall see.
  8. I will say after the crash, it recovers perfectly, which is genius programming!
  9. Yes, we run from the network as we do a lot of our software, we have a very good network, and would know if there were any comms issues. We can test on a local machine and I would also assume this would stop the error (Not fixed), but that then becomes a challenge with the regular updates as there is no install file as such. They autosave to their network areas which is a different network drive, I'm just wondering on the interaction with the executable?
  10. Another couple of things from me, and I'm assuming it's site specific, but any help would be appreciated. The software seems to be randomly crashing with a 'ExamWritePad has stopped working, close the program' message. Before looking into the route of it which I will go into, it seems that if the student clicks anywhere on the screen the error popup goes behind the EWP page, but you obviously can't continue, so this message is being missed. Is there any way to keep this sort of message up front and not miss-able? As for the crashing, there are 3 event errors which are the same on all machines that error, I've looked at them and have nothing to give! There is one reference to a network connection, but I disregard this because we have a lot of software running from that drive and don't have any issues, and the cabling is top notch!: EVENT ID 1000: Faulting application name: ExamWritePad.exe, version: 2.1.1.9, time stamp: 0x5a7dcd83 Faulting module name: MSVCR120_CLR0400.dll, version: 12.0.52519.0, time stamp: 0x5849f946 Exception code: 0xc0000006 Fault offset: 0x000000000003f349 Faulting process id: 0x19d4 Faulting application start time: 0x01d3b6b470134021 Faulting application path: P:\ExamWritePad\ExamWritePad.exe Faulting module path: C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\MSVCR120_CLR0400.dll Report Id: b552a550-8a04-4587-a664-3979e2ac9066 Faulting package full name: Faulting package-relative application ID: EVENT ID 1005: Windows cannot access the file for one of the following reasons: there is a problem with the network connection, the disk that the file is stored on, or the storage drivers installed on this computer; or the disk is missing. 11. You can change the Centre number in the associated config file, you can actually personalise everything in there
  12. you are a star, thank you very much
  13. Great piece of software, thanks for the time you've put into this! Couple of questions: 1) In screen options> Background/fonts - it says at the bottom the settings do NOT apply to printing, however when tested here, they print exactly as shown, so if the font size is changed to 30 in screen options, it prints that size too. 2) The pre-filled file name takes the details from candidate info, is there somewhere I can change this to include the subject field? Our exams officer suggested this might be helpful for mocks without defining numbers.
  14. LOL, they're obviously conflicted on the needs of an IT Support Engineer then.
