right folks, need a decision on this feature request.

A few have asked for a way to denote extra time work.

At the moment, the easiest option is to click a button on the menubar and the font changes colour. so far so good. The problem arises if you print it off the text is always black/mono. The colour gets removed as its not a requirement.

So what do I do to denote extra time on the print out?

Do I:

A) Enable Colour printing?

B) Denote a line of text on the print out that states *****EXTRA TIME*****?

C) Do Both above

D) Another suggestion?

I'm not sure what people actually need as its just as easy to get the candidate to type in the word 'extra time'. Thoughts please?

The issue with writing extra time on the paper is when a student goes back to update a previous question. They could write it again for the bit they're changing but can look a bit out of place if it's in the middle of a paragraph.

The bold option for us would be good but we find the font resets back to normal when you print (this might have been fixed in the newer version).

Sure had been fixed in 2.2.2.2

:-)

Do you mean you got the pupils to highlight themselves in bold? As you are right its difficult to do denote something that with presume logical but when going back through would become illogical and thus EWP could not track this, the user would have to manually denote extra time.

We ask them to change to bold/underline typing when in their extra time. Extra time monitoring is only required during mocks for us. It's used as evidence to prove they require the extra time I believe (SEN related). During the real exams, extra time is just extra time and doesn't require the changing of font.

I've just realised I forgot to mention that text formatting was removed upon printing had now been fixed in the change log. opps!!

OK for now I will leave out the extra time highlighting and leave it up to the end user as I cant find a consistent 100% accurate way of doing it by a clicking of a button to activate.

Just to mention that version 2.3 will be released next week with a a few minor fixes and a NEW "Config File Editor" GUI application for those that have requested it.

Maybe it could have a timer function that we could enable/disable?

Have an option to enter the amount of minutes the exam lasts, once it expires and enters into extra time the font changes.

One option to enter the amount of minutes the exam lasts, once it passes into extra time it changes the font.

Erm, possible [emoji848] let me investigate [emoji1303][emoji3]

I could be wrong here, but I thought that we weren't allowed to give them assistance like that.

They can see what time it is, what time the exam started, and what time it ends but it is up to them to decide how to use the time that remains.

This feature is for mock exams to distinguish whether ET is need for future exams. It will not be used for final exams.

Hi,

Thanks for this, we've downloaded and installed. Just a couple of minor points I've seen. The password on exit feature - the default config file included with this version appears to have some spaces/carriage return and so it prompts for a password unless you remove this. Also, I noticed if you have the option set to allow long candidate numbers, the description next to the candidate number on the candidate information screen doesn't change to reflect the new character limit of 12 - still says 4.

Top job as always, thanks :-)

Hi,

The default config is blank and has no value specified (see screenshot)e78e1887-359b-4bb2-826a-fed9c67f207d.jpg

You are correct with the allow long candidate names description and I will change for next build.

Thanks! That's odd, I've looked at the default config in the zip file and mine too is also blank as per your screenshot. But it wasn't earlier. It had some spaces and a carriage return. Could it be the config file editor that added this somehow? As I ran it through that. All was fine once I removed the spaces.

Probably is the config editor, will take a look thanks

This is now fixed and will be release later this week.

This fixed version will work for all config options that need to remain blank for whatever reason.

2.3.5.0

FEATURE: For use with mock exams, the ability has been added to enable an Extra Timer countdown timer that once expired will set to font colour to default red, but colour can be changed in the config. To enable the ‘ET Countdown’ on the application menu bar, set the config option of ‘ExtraTimeFontChange’ to 1 and also set the option ‘ExtraTimeFontColour’ to your specified colour, default red is 255,0,0.

ADDED: The two new config options above have been added to the config editor application. Please note if you are using an older config you may not have these options available. Thus you will need to add them in/copy & paste from the sample config into your current config, so that they appear in the ConfigEditorGUI application.

2.3.1.0

FIXED: Config File Editor would render empty config options with carriage returns and extra whitespace upon saving. So config options like ‘PasswordOnExit’ would fail regardless as you can’t type in a carriage return.

FIXED: The description on Candidate Number, when allowing longer numbers, would still suggest a max of 4 when it should be 16.
