What a coincidence... those are a few of my favourite things. ;)

You guys should try and get a song out of that - after all, who doesn't enjoy the sound of music in the morning....?

Watching the sunrise and listening to the birds while walking the dog. It has been lovely to watch it getting lighter in the mornings

Agreed! I am looking forward to that glorious period in Spring and Autumn where the days are just long enough to be productive, but the weather is mild without being too hot, humid or miserable.

Unexpectedly meeting one of my children when out for a walk. It's so nice to see them as others see them ( unbelievably gorgeous, of course!) before recognition kicks in.

This. Definitely this. It's a great start to the day.

In my MGF, sun shining, roof down. Getting to the open road, putting my foot down, holding on to that lower gear for just a bit longer than normal and enjoying the throaty rasp of the exhaust as I head for the horizon.

when its quiet and ideally cold driving through the tunnels under Leeds with stereo off windows down and dropping from 6th to 2nd and playing with the throttle in my fiesta st3 love the noise it makes

The smell of petrol.

The sound of a storm and rain hitting the window whilst be tucked up in bed.

After having one of my many night terrors, hearing my girlfriend say "...it's just a dream, go back to sleep".

Struggling with a technique/combination, then pulling it off flawlessly in sparring.

The smell of petrol.

I used to smell of it when I went to college on my scooter.

On the topic of little things that make me happy, I guess finding some listings of computers or toys from childhood do.

Finding a book that makes me laugh and smile and feel for the characters.

A good film that does the same.

Seeing my niece smile and listening to her sing (from several rooms away!!)

Warm bath, clean sheets, and proper sleep.

If you haven't already, the 'The Hating Game' by Sally Thorne. GREAT read.

Watching the different birds that visit our garden. Seeing the Robin and the Blackbird appear and sit about 3 feet away from me when I'm sorting the ground feeder.

It's not about a long list, it is about the small things in life - and you may only be able to think of one

Clarification: It wasn't intended as a criticism.

No, I know :)

I was really thinking of it as a place to share something that had just made you happy or you had just thought about that minute :)
