I was driving into work one day about 2 years ago very early in the morning (Before dawn) and a man crossed the road in front of me, when I looked in rear view mirror there wasn't anybody there, spooked me right out! It was only when I thought about the man I realised he'd been wearing a frock coat & hat, sleep was rather difficult that night. Once I worked in a school that was in several very old buildings, the main building dating back to Jacobean times. It had a priest-hole and a tunnel from the neighbouring church into the cellars of the main house. No one ever wanted to work late as you'd "see" things quite regularly in the main hall and up in the attic rooms.

[sims] Urgent Capita SIMS Data Issue - Issued by childrens services
Helen25 replied to vikpaw's topic in MIS Systems
We've been reporting this issue to HCC for a while now, glad we've finally got a reason, the admin staff were tearing their hair out! Just hoping the patch works and does what it is meant to. -

What Interactive Touchscreens are people using?
Helen25 replied to CHSGM's topic in AV and Multimedia Related
Currently have 15 ActiveTouch 72". Got them when promehean was doing promotions, so cut the cost a bit. Would have been able to cut cost even more if I'd been able to get on 5 year lease instead of 3, as warranty is 5 year replace on site. -
Having changed Office version last week from 2010 to 2016 we are having problems with any powerpoint being shown on IATS. It initially shows the powerpoint in slideshow mode but then lock ups the pc & screen, having changed it's display settings from duplicate to extend. The only exit route I've found so far is to reboot the PC or laptop - not the best solution when the teachers have got multiple documents and flipcharts open in the middle of a lesson. Equipment is generally Toshiba R50-12B laptop & Activetouch 72". Any ideas folks?

I migrated yesterday & you can all swear at me as I was on the phone to the migrations team for the best part of the day! Still having teething troubles but so far got at least two users working in each school, so fairly happy bunny.

Greetings from Hampshire will be able to come, depending on outcome from interview this morning, but as it will be a "pre-booked VERY important meeting" would imagine I could get day off. So that's where my ants have gone is it...on holiday to Salisbury? We've really had bugs in the system this week, invasion now hopefully under control but the smell of fried ant is horrible.

There is a massive difference between primary and secondary use of boards. Teachers in primary use them for everything, secondary and HE not so much. Can agree there, I'm primary and whilst doing HNC computing managed to totally flummox my tutor by using the board interactively. He'd NEVER seen it done before and he was a computing lecturer. I, being basic , hadn't done my course work presentation so did it "on the fly" - I did get to come top of the class for innovative approach! Edit: I've got 17 Promethean touch panels currently, having replaced ActivPanels about 3 years ago, 5 year warranty and one only had problems because teacher ripped hdmi cable out the wall!

Not quite on Snow day, as school is open, but been told not to travel in as I live in rural area so updating website & doing as much as possible from home. Saves me at least an hour's drive each way

No offence taken here, I took it to mean whatever popped in my head at that moment in time!

Medical Request - Brightness reduction for student
Helen25 replied to DanTheLacky's topic in How do you do....it?
You could change profile to mandatory after doing display settings ? I haven't done it for a long time but that was easiest method to keep settings with student and not restrict them to one PC? You may have to remove from current security group and put in Domain Admins whilst you're doing it, depending on your AD /GPO set up.
