Toner Recycling

Hello,

 

I'm looking for a company / charity that that accepts compatible toners for recycling and preferably provides a box in which to put the toners in and send back.

I've looked through old posts here on Edugeek and a lot of the companies mentioned previously don't seem to exist anymore.

 

So It would be nice to know what people use now, in an ideal world it would be nice to get a little money back for the toners (More money for the school to use elsewhere) but I would imagine not many companies pay for compatible toners at least.

We use http://www.greener-side.co.uk/ who as far as I know are nationwide.

We use OfficeGreen, who provide the boxes and collects within 5-10 working days (for us, at least). Not entirely sure about their coverage, though.

I'd be surprised if any companys offer a kickback on waste toners these days, sadly.

We use XMA and have been for the past 6 years... they provide us with large boxes which we fill with used toner cartridges and then we ring them up or send them an e-mail to say when they require picking up...simple really

 

XMA also sell toners...originals and compatibles at the best prices Iv'e seen... just saying like not touting for business...one solution to everything toners.

We use Takeback Ltd (http://www.takeback.ltd.uk/) who pay around 50p per empty toner. We usually get £25 per collection.

 

Although it doesn’t sound much it does add up over the space of a year to the best part of £1,000

I've always used https://www.idns.co.uk/TonerRecycle and can't fault them. They provide a box, you contact them when it's full, and then they come and collect it. They want either aprox 100 inkjets, or 20 toners to make it worth their while. Since I have started using the service, I have had 1 call from them, and that was to check the box had arrived.

Officegreen - nightmare - They took a collection end of may and they're still avoiding notification of value. They're always "we'll get it sorted" then never hear anything. I just replied to an offer email so see how that goes.

If you always get your toners from the same place then sometimes they will also collect the old ones - sometimes with limits e.g. only their own make

I've never found anywhere that's willing to take them. They only want genuine ones it seems. It's a bit of an environmental disaster

Look through this thread for Office Xpress, they take them. I know, I've been sending them back for 3 years

We use EnviroElectronics. You'd have to put the used toners in a box (we usually use the boxes the toners come in) and store in a bin they provide. We don't get any rebate for toners - compatible or genuines.

 

 

However, you can also recycle anything electrical - IT or non-IT, which you may be able to get a rebate for.

Just spoke to Mel who is very helpful and is sending out boxes and they will take everything except waste toner (from photocopiers).

 

They do want to quote me for toners and IT kit but that's to be expected.

They take genuine and non-compatible toners, including waste toner.

 

I've been using them since last May and it's what our photocopier leasing company uses.
