HCC Posted January 5, 2018 Posted January 5, 2018 Hi, Does anyone know of a manufacturer of interactive displays that meets this spec: 65" wall mounted screen HD or 4K HDMI Multipoint touch that works natively in Windows 10 (i.e no driver needed for Windows 10) Freeze button Stylus Pen option No Android integrated - All of these seem to run an already old version of the OS. If we end up using any interactive display like we have the Promethean boards; I can see android integration being a problem in 10 years time if its not a replaceable part. Not interested in bundled software. I would like teachers to use the standard Windows 10\ Office inking tools or Classflow(if they must). Ideally around the £1500 per unit price point. Regards,

As for the bundled Android - just don't connect it to the wi-fi or via a network cable to the screen, as there is no issue with it. Most do get them bundled in, simply because that way it can work without the need for a machine attached
synaesthesia Posted January 5, 2018 Posted January 5, 2018 Iiyama, Promethean, Clevertouch... just about all of them will meet those specs and I echo the above about the built in android. Promethean's kit has the android on a separate box so you can disconnect or not specify it if it's an issue (plus means it's upgradable)
john Posted January 5, 2018 Posted January 5, 2018 I would say do look at Clevertouch, I am in business now but use the Pro version which doesn't have the Edu focus but the product is brilliant and I know the Edu is very much the same thing. The Android is a removable module so yes it comes with it but you could also take it out if you don't want it I guess or buy a new one in the future. They also have on some models a 2nd slot for a PC, again removable etc... well worth talking to them. They are EduGeek sponsors as well (or were at my last look) and are very much good people 1

BenQ_Royce Posted January 6, 2018 Posted January 6, 2018 our new classroom focused RP653K will fit the spec needed. includes 4k Oktopus software and wall mount, with 5yr warranty. regarding Android, you may not think you needed it, but its the underlying system for the board. OTA updates, remote management, 2 way cable free presentation... we lock off loading of apps so shouldn't cause an issue if you don't want to use it. you'll see most brands at BETT and you're welcome to come and see us at the main entrance.

Both great products and windows ink space could develop into something good. If you use google apps at all have a look at Ximbus. Clever software that I started playing with. 1

DavR Posted January 10, 2018 Posted January 10, 2018 We've been using, and have just ordered some more, iiYama Prolite 65s. No frills, good picture, nice and bright, does the job. They have bundled androids in, but as has been said by a previous poster, you don't have to use or connect this. If you act quickly, these were going for around £1400 + VAT due to a special offer. That's expired, but some suppliers do still have the cheaper stock in.

The non K version is from a different factory in China and is completely different even had different pens and completely different OSD menu. Different Android apps. One is OK one is Pants.

Regards, The current Promethean screens have a separate OPS unit, so you can choose to remove it if you do not want to use the onboard Android software. It also makes it a little easier to upgrade if required. If it became an issue in the future, I'm sure you would be able to just replace the OPS rather than the complete screen too.

Sonic007 Posted October 9, 2018 Posted October 9, 2018 Wever taken down all our ActivBoards and purchased Prowise 4K screens for each classroom with the PC module built-in. It will also accept inputs if you need to hook up something to it too. They are great. We have accounts for Prowise Presenter too and the teachers really get on with it.
