BenQ RP653K 65" Interactive Flat Panel Display

Hi,

 

Has anyone had any experience of the above?

 

We have just purchased one of these but I cant seem to get the touch working. It works fine with the inbuilt whiteboard but not when I plug a laptop into the USB.

 

Am I missing something!?

Had a similar problems to this a few years ago on another model BenQ display. We were using a mix of Toshiba & Fujitsu laptops in school at the time. Turns out the problem was with the lack of power that the usb ports of the Fujitsu's. Added a cheap powered usb hub onto the laptop and plugged the BenQ into that. Hey Presto! It worked!

USB3 could be causing a issue with cable length. You may be able to turn this off and just use USB2

Thanks guys. Turns out it doesn't like USB extenders! Had to move the desk closer using a single USB and it worked.

Are these unpowered or powered? I would always get powered usb extenders for IWBs.

the RP653K and RP653 (without the K) are completely different boards from different factories I would guess. If you have the one with a few buttons on the front you've got a good'n but the newer ones with just 2 button are the wrong'uns

 

Problems such as not shutting down if there is a PC signal present are just the start of the issues with these. Also they have internal fans! The OSD menu is awful and we have had random issues using them with our VGA visualisers. Also they are picky about HDMI signal strength using extenders or long HDMI runs. Very poor quality.

 

On the other hand the non 4K ones are great. Also keep the old speakers from your IWB and don't use a sound bar unles you need HDMI passthrough.
