Opendium_Steve Posted February 24, 2020 Posted February 24, 2020 Is there a problem with netsweeper today ? I'm seeing 3-6 seconds latency on HTTP traffic over an SBB connection this morning - if I were to guess I'd say they're probably have a DNS issue.
snagrat Posted February 24, 2020 Posted February 24, 2020 Few reports here. Must be Netsweeper as my nofilter devices seem OK
sister_annex Posted February 24, 2020 Posted February 24, 2020 We're having issues here - the platform seems responsive enough but our outgoing connection (for sites that are not QUIC enabled) is incredibly slow Happy welcome back after half term
caffrey Posted February 24, 2020 Posted February 24, 2020 Had the recaptcha thing before it went , I thought it was to do with post half term traffic. I wouldn't care I did some network stuff last week and it's a horrible coincedence!
PrimaryNetMan Posted February 24, 2020 Posted February 24, 2020 Have one site just go down and about to see if my other sites are effected. Currently been on hold for 20mins
Opendium_Steve Posted February 24, 2020 Posted February 24, 2020 Here's this morning's HTTP latency graph for the SBB connection I'm monitoring.
TMBS Posted February 24, 2020 Author Posted February 24, 2020 Is there a problem with netsweeper today ? Just got through to support and yes there are issues with the entire Netsweeper platform. They are aware and working on it so hopefully it won't be too long! 1
caffrey Posted February 24, 2020 Posted February 24, 2020 Wonder if it's anything to do with this At Risk Maintenance Notification – Monday 24th February 2020 8PM – 11PM We are taking precautionary steps and replacing a switch in one of our data centres following a power surge. Customers should not be affected unless they have not followed previous advice sent in multiple notifications and updated their DNS settings. To confirm, customers should be using the following DNS servers 85.92.188.226 and 85.92.168.104
MrWu Posted February 24, 2020 Posted February 24, 2020 Going to look at the SLAs, Our Management is talking compensation now...down since 9:30am
Edu-IT Posted February 24, 2020 Posted February 24, 2020 It’s up but slow so that may be a get out clause on any SLA.
Kollektiv26 Posted November 9, 2021 Posted November 9, 2021 Is there anyway to temporarily reboot netsweeper via a remote command of sorts on a client, we have lots of staff not properly signing out at the end of the day and then complaining that YouTube doesn't work for them the next day. It can be a real pain getting them to reboot.

You don't need to reboot your machines. If you lock the PC with ctrl + alt + delete and then unlock I believe it re-authenticates you and you're then given the correct policy again. There is a timeout against inactive users which will be why you see the issue you have but its easily fixable and good practise to lock your machines when not in use. if you're still stuck do send me a PM and I'll get an engineer to give you a call. Thanks Dave 1

PaddyNewman Posted November 9, 2021 Posted November 9, 2021 Are you using WAgent or Client Filter? As ^ says, if you lock the machine, when you log back in there should be an event in the logs which is sending re-auth requests, says something like liger etc etc WAgent has resend flags but if its not a local/VPN or MPLS Netsweeper instance, WAgent doesn't work. If it is WAgent, you want a shorter resend (I use 360) and -i -l added to the string.
mavhc Posted November 9, 2021 Posted November 9, 2021 Are their screens not locking when the computer goes to sleep? Wouldn't that force a reauthentication anyway?
Kollektiv26 Posted November 9, 2021 Posted November 9, 2021 The issue is that Staff are shutting down their PCs at the end of the day leaving unsaved work open and windows is stalling with a "This app is preventing you from shutting down" message, they're coming in the next day and hitting cancel only to find all background programs have been closed (including netsweeper and PaperCut) might be something we can resolve at our end with a group policy change on our end to be honest. Also we're using wagent.
sippo Posted November 9, 2021 Posted November 9, 2021 Use a shutdown script for PCs at the end of the day. We use one at 10pm. 1

Also we're using wagent. If you are using WAgent, have you configured the MSI as a service install rather than application? Its in the MSI itself in 'Property' under NS_WAGENT_SERVICE default is 0, I set to 1. It then runs as a full on service rather than application in the background and continues to start if stopped. Found that fixed a load of timeouts and expired client issues. 1

mavhc Posted November 9, 2021 Posted November 9, 2021 Lock accounts of people who leave their computers unlocked, because GDPR, that'll soon solve it
