Theory Posted June 16, 2017 Author Posted June 16, 2017 So I've decided to definitely pass my current PC down to brother and just build a new one for myself, I'm going to do it all RGB because I've put it off for so long and hearing @DalekSec speak about it has just got me somewhat into it again, and I do know how great they can look in all of their glory. For my case I'm going to go with a Corsair Crystal Series 570x. In terms of the Motherboard I'm looking at (undecided) good ol' reliable Gigabyte AORUS AX370-K7. GPU either a GTX 1080Ti or the new AMD RX VEGA when it comes out. CPU either the Ryzen 7 1800x or wait for the new Threadripper to come out. Still undecided about the rest.
DalekSec Posted June 16, 2017 Posted June 16, 2017 So pretty, the nvme installed windows in under 5mins! Heads up if you do go with the 570x and HD120 fans make sure you get a, HD controller as the case comes with a sp one
DJ-1701 Posted June 16, 2017 Posted June 16, 2017 Stop copying me!!! Imitation is the highest form of flattery.

Sunnyknight Posted June 17, 2017 Posted June 17, 2017 Woah woah woah, what did i see here. High money for a beastly rig? Let me get my magical fingers going. Beee arrr beee
Sunnyknight Posted June 17, 2017 Posted June 17, 2017 (edited) i7 6900k (3.2ghz?) - £700 - ebay (new) (easily oc to 4.4ghz) Asus Tuf x99 sabertooth mobo - £350 - ebay (new) Corsair black quad channel kit 2400mhz 32gb - £230 - ebay (new) Gtx 1080 - £500 - ebay (new) Seasonic 850w plus Modular psu - £200 - ebay (new) So far that's.... £1980. Samsung M2 pro 950 series 256gb boot drive - £250 - ebay (new) (additional drives, you choose and add as i don't know your config) Phantecs elite super primoo case - £800 - ebay (new) ----- Change at your will, though you won't ever get a better case than this! Alternative case - Phantecs primoo full tower case - £200 - ebay (new) So far.... £2430 or £3030 Now, if you go with the £200 case, we can talk about watercooling. You could do a custom setup. 1 loop to cpu, 1 loop to mobo, 1 loop to gfx... If you're interested, let me know. I'll price up some stuff. Note... acrylic watercooling is EXPENSIVE, as in... EXPENSIVE! Obviously you could go dual GFX, but unless you've got 3+ monitors, i don't see the point. This is only for the rig, i don't play around with monitors and stuff, as i spend nearly as much on them >< Edited June 17, 2017 by Sunnyknight
Arthur Posted June 17, 2017 Posted June 17, 2017 (edited) Obviously you could go dual GFX, but unless you've got 3+ monitors, I don't see the point. What if you want an Asus ROG Swift PG27UQ (27", 4K UHD, 144Hz, G-Sync)? Edited June 17, 2017 by Arthur
DalekSec Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 Thinking of selling my two 1080s and replacing them with a single 1080ti, they are running at around 80-85C even after i've done all my airflow upgrades. Might wait a month or so see what Vega turns out like and if it pushes the prices down a bit first or even if it's better!
Theory Posted June 19, 2017 Author Posted June 19, 2017 Might wait a month or so see what Vega turns out like and if it pushes the prices down a bit first or even if it's better! If the Vega is good/god-tier will you be buying two?
DalekSec Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 If the Vega is good/god-tier will you be buying two? Have to wait and see specs, i'm hopeing more than anything it will just lower the price of the 1080ti, as i do have a G-sync monitor i want to stay with Nvidia
Theory Posted June 19, 2017 Author Posted June 19, 2017 G-sync monitor i want to stay with Nvidia Fair enough fair enough.
Svella Posted June 21, 2017 Posted June 21, 2017 I know this isn't my thread, but I currently have a Lenovo C20 - was a present about a year or two ago. Now this BEAST runs almost nothing, I play WoW and League quite a lot (on second or lowest graphics), and have got a lot of Steam Games that just won't play because my PC is clearly too good, Now I don't know too much about Gaming PC's but I'm willing to spend up to £3000 not including peripherals. Would someone be able to help?

Svella Posted June 21, 2017 Posted June 21, 2017 There are several build guides for round that price on this thread I believe I was actually intrigued by the first one you posted for £2900, how well would that play games like CSGO, WoW, LoL, OW etc? I know it's designed for gaming but besides that I'm rather clueless.
