It's now locked waiting for the relevant people, however, the room connects to my server room and it's gone into the ceiling... It better not be chewing things 2

Bompalompalomp Posted June 9, 2017 Posted June 9, 2017 Bats are my favourite animals so this is killing me! It shouldn't chew anything, UK bats eat insects mostly. It most likely just wants to chill out somewhere dark and warm. I suggest your best option is to release a swarm of locusts into the ceilings so it doesn't get hungry... 1
chinesewhispers Posted June 9, 2017 Posted June 9, 2017 Had one in our bedroom at home a few weeks ago. It was circling the room at a rapid rate, I had to very carefully (and bravely) walk in, across the room, open the blinds and windows walk back to the door to watch through a small opening and leave it for a while until if figured out an escape route. If you think moths/spiders are scary, this is terrifying! Just moved slow enough so I didn't get flown into! Still no idea how it got in, or when! The windows and blinds had been closed for a few days.

He had a Daubenton's bat and a Pipistrelle that he was nursing with him. He got them out to show us. The Daubenton's was about the size of a hamster and purred when stroked The Pipistrelle flew and hung itself on our York stone fireplace. 2

I agree there, they certainly aren't the worst animal around, though having taken my kids to bristol zoo and walked through the enclosure, the fruit bats are a size which would make it a bit worse to deal with if they were in the wild in our country, they were massive by comparison to the native ones. I think its the leathery wings that frighten a lot of people. 1

gumbygaz Posted June 13, 2017 Author Posted June 13, 2017 Well nobody knows what happened to our Bat either, no further sightings. Since it was flying around and healthy they wouldn't come out to catch it. So left windows open and not seen it again.... Perhaps it was indeed the Ghost of Adam West!
