Domain Names

Right so recently I've decided that my domain name should grow up a little...

 

The website is nothing fancy but it does get used for my emails and my current one is no good.

 

What sort of domain names do others have? I have a very common last name of Williams so as such am struggling for inspiration

 

Any ideas?

My domain name is the first two letters of my first, middle and last names

 

So if I was Joe Bloggs Smith, it'd be joblsm.co.uk. My actual name means my domain name rolls off the tongue a bit better than joblsm lol!

I have ForenameSurname.com and ForenameSurname.co.uk. There is nothing on the websites - I just use it for email and they are both redirected to my PlusNet email account.

I've had moletrap.co.uk since 1999. I quite like it as being short and easy to remember. It was originally chosen to annoy some people and it has continued to annoy people since then, most recently a deluded Australian inventor of free energy devices who keeps sending me threats of legal action and before that an Irish company called S t e o r n, now in receivership, were sending me legal threats. It does seem to occasionally be on spam lists (as spammers have in the past spoofed it into the From: ) but I think that is a problem for anyone with a domain.

Just my name. Because that's what people will be searching for on my writing, and I love me some of that sweet SEO magic. And it's worked! I'm number 1

forenamesurname.co.uk/me.uk/uk and surname.eu/ltd/uk.com couldn't get what I wanted in that yet.

 

Do have a few other domains but hardly used. forenamesurname.co.uk is the main one for me, had it years.

Got a few domain name. Got first letter of first and middle name and whole surname .co.uk/.me.uk/.uk got a family one as well (theSURNAMEfamily.eu) my wife has the same setup as mine. Even brought my daughters domain name as well!

I use rikev.net (which is my net alias) but I don't have anything on there as it's used just for mail. Can't think what to put on. Tried a blog but it didn't get used a lot and I failed to keep it up-to-date so I removed it for security reasons.

I have a few domains for different things, but I have a surname.org.uk for my professional stuff so it goes [email protected] (had to use .org.uk as all others were registered at the time), also have an office365 setup on them for mail to make it all easy (only £4 a month for the basic account with business essentials) Edited May 13, 2017 by rich_tech
