Just to finish off what was a great day yesterday, here is some information to save multiple posts later on:

 

1. Conf video: This will be made available as soon as we can. We won't start working on this until Monday at the earliest so please bear with us as we do have lives to and as much as it appears we live our lives inside computers there is still a certain amount of real world relocating we have to do.

 

2. Powerpoints: Again, we shall be putting these up next week, but we do have a couple where the speakers have to remove some information they had on there (speakers notes etc.) before we can give these to you.

 

3. Feedback: We shall be asking for some feedback from you in the near future as we do think we may need to make a few changes to EDIT in the future and want to ask your opinion on these.

 

And finally, thank you, our members for coming to see us this year and to our speakers and exhibitors as well as the staff at the Space Centre for looking after us. It was great to see you all once more and I hope you enjoyed yourselves as much as we did.

I'll just leave you with this final picture of the food order from last night.

In typical geek style the 3 sections of tables decide to get their orders written down in three different ways:

1. Back of a napkin - This is full blown emergency ordering utilising any tools to hand

2. Scratty notepad held together with duct tape - Old school geeking with the required equipment always in arms reach

3. Nice notepad and pen - Well managed and ordered with everything laid out clear and concise. The non-panicking, clear and sensible solution :)

 

I still maintain that you should set up a thread and force all members to post food orders there.

You just know you would get random orders from people not actually in the restaurant :D

Maybe it's something @ZeroHour could build into the new forum. A booking system for the conference that allows for food orders from the attendees marked as present

Did anyone find the avantis comment about the 32gb ssd drive (will they be making 64gb/120gb versions) very revealing about how much control Microsoft has over what devices OEMs can actually make and probably explains why I can't find cheap devices with SSD (always 500gb spinning rust)

The problem is that you can't grant access until people actually turn up on the day (and some don't!), and it takes a little time to do each account individually.

Yes. Found it quite revealing people were more excited about a laptop than VR. My experience of devices is that usb to ethernet works but not PXE.

Video should hopefully be finished today to go live on Thursday, sorry for the delay, Premier has taken a bit to get into as well as having quite a few interruptions that have forced me to stop working on it.

The power points and video will be published on the frontpage.
