Agreed - have managed to extend my membership three times over the last year because of this. It's the first thing they always do to keep the customer happy.

I've complained twice, once about a late delivery - as you've said, got a months free prime. I also had a delivery that was damaged, it was bed linen and it arrived with damaged packaging and filthy, I refused the delivery, photographed it at the door and complained and got a replacement product the next day and a 6 month upgrade of prime unlimited music.

Yes in the run up to Christmas 2015 we had to wait a couple of weeks for a prime stick to arrive - I ended up with three or four months added to the subscription for free.

I ordered a microSD card a couple of weeks ago which arrived not exactly as described. Filled the form out to return it and the reply was keep the item and we will refund. Must be more expensive than it is worth to process the return I'm guessing.

Ooo i like that one!

I too have had a month extension before. though annoyingly they seem to be better now. I used to try take advantage of the same day delivery between 6-9, and it would sometimes arrive around 9:30 ish, but lately they've been a lot better! (or worse depending on how you look at it!)

I always complain, over the last 12 months I've had £85 worth of Christmas presents refunded and an extra 6 months prime membership.

I have prime but never know what products are prime delivery. can someone explain?

Ive always bought stuff well ahead of needing it but I liked the idea of next day delivery so signed up!

It shows the prime logo/image and will say 'eligible for prime' delivery.

You can also use the filters on the left side (on web) to only see products that have prime delivery options.

I use it all the time. It's great cos you don't have to worry about holding things in your basket to save on delivery costs.

Pro Tip: at checkout, choose not to have next day delivery and you can often earn £1 or more credit to use on digital content. This earned me a packet over Xmas.

My Prime delivery took two days. So I complained and got a free month of Prime :)

I know, right? I've had a few delivery snafu's - a couple of instances where something hasn't turned up, or it's been left in an inappropriate place, and the default response is 'Sorry about that! Here, have a free month'...

I'm not going to argue with that...

I ordered a vinyl record from Amazon over the half term period. Although it was new and in the cellophane, and was decently packed, when I played it, it was badly warped - to the extent that you could watch the arm rising and falling about 25mm during playback. Tried to arrange a return via the website, only to be greeted with a 'This item is not eligible for return' message.

So went onto live chat in a huff expecting to be told I couldn't return, but ended up being offered a replacement, or a refund. Either way, I wouldn't need to return the disc, just to 'dispose of it safely'.

So a refund came my way.

Amazon always seem to be great for customer service - my wife even got the difference refunded when she bought a Fire tablet couple of days before Black Friday which ended up being discounted!

Be careful with Prime and some third party sellers. I noticed over Christmas that they often have 2 entries, one with Prime that is more expensive than the other that is not Prime. Seems a bit of a cheek as Prime is meant to be free delivery!

Yeah that's the 'Amazon Marketplace' - you have to look for 'Fulfilled by Amazon' as well - that doesn't mean Amazon are responsible for the product, it just means someone sent stuff there and Amazon store and ship it. I hate the Amazon Marketplace so much. I don't mind the 'New and Used' book stuff where you can buy a 'Used - Good' book for 1p (plus £3 P&P XD)
