Dear All,

We have been having some UPS issues over the last few years and after replacing parts of ours, i think its time to purchase a new one.

Is anyone able to recommend any brands / companies to speak to about getting a replacement.

Over the years have heard lots of bad things about APC not being upto the job in the real world.

Load is going to be quite heavy as it's about 10 servers plus SAN's

I've heard some bad about APC, but my experiences have been very positive over the last seven or eight years. Currently got five rackmount units (a mix of 2200VA and 3000VA) plus a few of the Back-UPS units. We have one unit wanting a new battery now, which is expensive but not excessive. Edited by 3s-gtech

We have 5 5000VA apc (and one rebranded dell one) ones. we replace the batteries once (after 3-4 years) and the unit after 6-8 and have only had one issue (network card failing) in the last 10 years

I've recently upgraded my main cab from 3 x APC 3000 to 2 x Eaton 5000 and I wouldn't go back to APC.

I've never actually had any issues with APC mind, no horror stories to tell, just the Eaton stuff is better, better made, and cheaper.

Ive bought a couple of the new APC units and they look a lot better than the past generations however time will tell if they still do stupid things like go oh im faulty and just shut off which I had happen a few times.

Probably over kill for your needs; Our main data centre has a

30kva Riello Multi Sentry UPS's with extended batteries.

Probably about 40 devices, inc firewalls, switches and servers/San's basically 4 x Prisim PI 42u cabs probably 80% populated on each.
