The new series of Top Gear hits screens soon. And this is our first glimpse at what it will contain: sideways Ferraris, sideways Astons and, um, some naked hikers. Yep.

I might try this again now, the main reason I didn't watch the last series was because of Chris Evans, but this could actually be much better.

I watched the last series and enjoyed the segments with these three in. Hopefully it will be just as good.

I'm actually looking forward to this after The Grand Tour left me feeling a little disappointed, I'm sure it will get better but if this is the way things are going to continue with them alternating like this I will be a happy man.

It was entertaining, I think they still need time to bond. You could see that they were trying not to be like Clarkson, Hammond and May.

 

I think as the series goes on they will get better.

I gave it a go last night on the BBC iPlayer and it was back to what Top Gear used to be so really enjoyed it and look forward to seeing the rest of the new series.

I really enjoyed it - it felt like they were trying to make it their show and it was less forced. It also seems like they get more of a chance to be themselves and have fun. The features were good but it's still an entertainment rather than motoring show really, which is fine.

I thought it was a massive improvement on the last series... I'm not sure if Matt Le Blanc will last beyond this season; still seems a little dry. I think bringing Chris Harris and Rory Reid forward a bit will pay dividends.

Harris and Rory really annoy me, they have no personality, this week and last week the star in car section was cringe worthy, I think Le Blanc should do all the hanger stuff. Harris was ok both last week and this, doing the car "review" section, as I suppose that's his proper job, but Rory is just embarrassing

 

But then I never though Chris Evans was that bad, after he got through Episode 1 where he was doing a Clarkson impersonation for 1 hr, so what do I know

Yeh, the best bits of The Grand Tour, are the challenges, where it's just like they did on Top Gear, or the beach Buggy Buggy one like the specials.

Totally agree, I watched it last night and thought the same. There is no 'flow' and it's like watching bad acting. The problem with Harris and Reid (even given their past expereince in the field of automotive jounalism) is that they talk about knowing things that they may know about but I can't take it as gospel.

With the old crowd you largely knew they'd been there, seen it, done it and could accept what they told you.

The new bunch still haven't 'gelled' as a team and the scripts reflect this.
