SwedishChef Posted January 23, 2017 Posted January 23, 2017 Also have just noticed a Workstation Patch has dropped into my available updates. AS it had previously been withdrawn...do you think it safe to install ?
chrisbradbury Posted January 23, 2017 Posted January 23, 2017 (edited) Also have just noticed a Workstation Patch has dropped into my available updates. AS it had previously been withdrawn...do you think it safe to install ? I think so. It's got the same release date as the old one that got withdrawn. Will deploy tonight and see what happens! Simcfc73 Posted January 23, 2017 Author Posted January 23, 2017 Just tried it, ended up rolling back. Cant understand why, when I deploy it then it decides to try and install the Autumn Sims update again. I would have thought the workstation update would have todays date and would only update Solus.. unless someone's pressed the wrong button on Capita Hill.

Looks like the patch does re-install the Autumn Release (as the old one did). The new patch is a newer version number than the withdrawn one.

chrisbradbury Posted January 23, 2017 Posted January 23, 2017 From Capita I have successfully tested the fix on a live school environment and can confirm that it has resolved the SOLUS 3 issue check for updates issue. We are awaiting confirmation that we can release the SOLUS 3 update (3.11.61.2) and I will let you know once this has been actioned. Please go ahead and deploy the SIMS Workstation Patch which was authorised today (release data will show as 09/01/17) as this is also a necessary to resolve the issue. [/Quote] 1
Simcfc73 Posted January 23, 2017 Author Posted January 23, 2017 Mines got stuck on the rollback. I thought it timed out after 30 minutes. It wont deploy the new update till these time out.
vyperz Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 any idea when the solus patch is being rolled out ?
Simcfc73 Posted January 31, 2017 Author Posted January 31, 2017 Got an email today and it says 'soon' The new Solus version will be 3.11.61.2.
mburland Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 Thanks for this thread! Why don't we get notified about this sort of thing directly from Capita? 1
Tefters Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 Thanks for this thread! Why don't we get notified about this sort of thing directly from Capita? Because it's Capita and communicating with customers is top priority! Not...
vyperz Posted February 3, 2017 Posted February 3, 2017 Asked Capita today when to expect a new version of SOLUS 3 - "Still no update as of yet in regards to the new SOLUS 3 release."
Gibbo Posted February 6, 2017 Posted February 6, 2017 I found a bug in patch 22549 (31/01/17) which was pulled and a working replacement uploaded today.
superfletch Posted February 7, 2017 Posted February 7, 2017 See my above. I have found that if you run the UI whilst logged on to the server as a different user to that that installed SOLUS 3 in the beginning it behaves oddly. Certain screens dissapear and some functions you just cannot do. Kindest regards Simon Try run as admin when you open the UI
superfletch Posted February 7, 2017 Posted February 7, 2017 Can i ask how you went about "rolling back?" It "rolls back" on it's own when it goes wrong, it's not something you get to initiate yourself.
Simcfc73 Posted February 8, 2017 Author Posted February 8, 2017 This is starting to feel like a major FU on Capitas part. It doesn't usually take this long to fix something that's so critical...does it?
Simcfc73 Posted February 9, 2017 Author Posted February 9, 2017 Installing the update now, fingers crossed.
hiphopamus Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 Which update have you got? I don't seem to have a SOLUS 3 update available yet...
Simcfc73 Posted February 9, 2017 Author Posted February 9, 2017 3.11.61.2 Its updated the console and clients. Its still dated 16.1.17 but wasn't there yesterday.
Simcfc73 Posted February 9, 2017 Author Posted February 9, 2017 Actually the client updated to 61.1 but the console is saying 61.2 It is working though
hiphopamus Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 Any word on which of the problems it fixes?
hiphopamus Posted February 10, 2017 Posted February 10, 2017 The release notes are available on MyAccount if anyone is interested.
JScott Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 How are people getting on with SIMS workstation patch 1? We had the error what was mentioned early on in this thread. I can see the workstation patch is now ready for deployment again. Anyone had a go? Jim
Tefters Posted February 24, 2017 Posted February 24, 2017 Update 'Solus 3 - 3.11.61' has just arrived in the database This dropped into my Solus3 setup yesterday and deployed everywhere last night, is this the deployment fix? Have yet to try a deployment today...
