Frankly Hamilton needs some of the good luck, he's been fighting with an inferior car the last few races and still made Vettel look like a bit of a mug. Don't think vettel was entirely to blame for Stroll though. However, the dude lost a LOT of respect for the muppetry he and ferrari pulled with Verstappen in singapore.

IMO the sport is selling itself too much as a drivers' competition, expecting fans to be partisan and fervent followers of one driver or another, as if that's necessary in order for it to be interesting. I don't really care, I just want to see some good racing and some technical wizardry. One of the nice things about F1 (and any top level motorsport series, really), is that it's global, rather than international. It's not about what country people are from, there is no limitation on how many teams can enter from a particular country, etc. I'm not really interested in waving a flag and attaching myself arbitrarily to someone else's achievements (looking at you, football). So no, the championship doesn't really mean anything if it's not generating good racing.

Vettel is only interested in himself, very much Schumacher-a-like. Hamilton on the other hand is increasingly concerned by the bigger picture, in the post race briefing with Charlie Whiting, Hamilton was sticking up for the smaller teams who can't afford repair bills caused by the track.

synaesthesia Posted November 3, 2017 Posted November 3, 2017 They do indeed, they're like children and they assume F1 can't exist without them, so the owners will bend over backwards. Doesn't work like that, F1 will exist without them and would probably be better off for it, short of the Tifosi.

The engines will rev 3000RPM higher and the removal of the MGU-H will improve the sound too. I honestly hope Ferrari do go so that they realise that the sport can exist without them! Will mean that the FIA (Ferrari International Assistance) will need to find a new favourite team too.

There is one problem with raising the rev limit on these engines. The current limit is 15,000 RPM but teams run no higher than around 12,000 because torque is so high on them that they don't really need the full range and also keeps under the fuel flow limits easier. So by that, even if they're allowed to run up to 18,000 RPM why would they?

Hahah really, the only 2 teams he has been with are Mclaren and Mercedes, he left McLaren when they were no longer winning....and went to Mercedes. In the last race he struggled to get past Alonso who had an inferior car. In equal cars Hamilton is the 4th best driver, possibly even 5th. Agree on the V8s though Edited November 3, 2017 by Disease

He's easily one of the best ever, and certainly one of the 2 standout drivers currently in F1 along with Alonso. Only being with 2 teams isn't a measure of ability, you only have to look back at his racing career from karts onwards to see the talent.
