Maybe we could set up some sort of Quality Street exchange?

I would happily give up every orange creme to get more toffee and caramel :)

Well, Roses and Quality Street are no match for Cadbury's Heroes (although they are the newcomer and less 'traditional' I guess).

 

I can't make my mind up for the poll, but I always take at least Choc Block, Fudge, Coconut and Caramel in my handful... :p

 

Both the toffee penny and finger get left in the 'tin' for six months until I'm desperate or I bring them into School!

 

I wasn't too disappointed in losing the Toffee Deluxe for the Honeycomb (sorry @localzuk ).

 

My wife is a bit of a choc fan and may I say slightly selfish and has no qualm in demolishing all her favourites in any given selection, before I get a chance.

 

Last year I managed to stealthily open the container, remove all her absolute favourites (Twisted Crème Egg) and reseal it! She was so furious, she was almost on the phone to Mr. Cadbury when I showed her I'd hidden them!

Original notes and drawings for the first assortment of Quality Street chocolates have emerged 80 years after their creation.

 

They reveal their founder always intended the special container would become a much sought after biscuit or cake tin.

 

The previously unseen scribbles show the thinking of celebrated confectioner Lord Harold Mackintosh, who wanted to create a "sensory feast" right down to how the wrappers felt to touch.

 

In one memo dated November 19, 1935, he wrote to a Mr E Fletcher, senior manager at one of his factories, asking for his opinion on how each sweet should be individually wrapped, and whether wax papers, foils or cellophane should be used....
