Looks good! Also good to hear someone being able to future proof where possible! im sure most of us are jealous of how nice your network now is!

Shame how much you had to go through to get there!

Pic 6 - please tell me that isn't the "drama studio"...?

No that is the main hall. Huge 4m wide screen with an Intel NUC hidden in a cupboard with a wireless keyboard with trackpad for SLT for assemblies every morning.

Excellent, neat solution. Expect people to still email "can I have a laptop / where's the assembly laptop I need it now pls!!!!" despite telling them 42 times.

Already had it with an external visitor wanting to see the slideshow notes on her powerpoint!

Here you go!

The cabling is so neat and tidy it appeases my OCD, my edge cabs are all like this as well.

Dont know why they put a window in the server room??? I have a blind on order as at night it must look like a rave is going on in that room.

A window, in a server room! Unheard of!

The window isn't even one that can open its just there for effect! Once the blind is up it will never be opened unless im in there for any prolonged period and want to look at the cricket field opposite!

Out of interest, do you have many cloud based systems that you would have preferred to keep in house. With this setup, keeping it all local looks very inviting.

We are in!!

We are now on day 6 of being in the new school and OFSTED have decided to grace us with their presence for 2 days as well!!

Congrats mate! Looks lovely. Jealous here!

How nice of Ofsted.

Only G-Suite & O365 cloud based really, Finance software is as well (MAT Provided). Then of course cloud backup!

We had issues here getting broadband in after the fire so were without a proper leased line for 6 months (thanks BT Openreach) so if stuff was cloud based it would have been a nightmare!!

I have kept everything in house at the minute still as we have really good infrastructure with full POE+ on every port in the school and diverse fiber routes from every edge cab to the main server room. Moving forward i am migrating staff from O365 to G-Suite and may look to move some of the shared areas to Team Drives.

Woo, the joys of a newbuild! We had an audit carried out recently suggesting lots of actions to take including diverse cable routing to all cabs. We laughed, the cost of that would have been immense - 100+ year old buildings, an insane amount of wall trunking already and routing cables currently is a nightmare even for the most seasoned of infrastructure engineers! :D That's a lovely level of resiliency though, great peace of mind!

Old world: I have a nice house in the country

New world: I have a terrible internet speeds

Old world: Lovely old building, built to last

New world: Wifi doesn't work, can't drill through 30cm stone walls all the time for cables

I've got one. Mine opens too.

Permanently closed off with blinds of course.

Same here, we how have a external shutter fitted with it closed permanently.

Your architect will have looked at it from the outside and decided a missing window would look odd I'm guessing. Hope it isn't south facing?!

More likely that the exterior of the building was designed before they decided what the interior would look like.

It is south facing! Gets the sun all day. Great design!! Hopefully the AC in there is up to the job in the summer!

Ooof.. Day 6 and OFSTED? Bit of a d:censored:k move!

The new build looks fantastic though. Well. It did. The kids have been there for a week. I'm sure it's less photogenic now :p

Why'd you think he posted pictures from before the move?

New picture from the end of week.

No that picture is after the INSET day - before the kids even got there!
