Whilst reading your safety guide, I was robbed and also fell down a hole then arrested for trespassing!

Most unfortunate!

If you believe that trouble comes in threes then you have had your allocation of irritating events for a while.

I just updated and I'm alright :o haven't read the story yet thou.

I have just discovered that wifi and 3G shows my avatar at a slightly different location, by turning it off and on a few times it moved me close enough to a place just round the corner where Pokemon spawn. Seemed pointless at first as only caught 2 pidgeys but on a third attempt a squirtle spawned there (cp 11 but it's 4 candies none the less).

I also traveled 100 metres more towards hatching an egg haha.

Going to try it a few times over the next week see if anything out of the ordinary pops up there.

Surprised the latest update didn't fix the footsteps glitch

it did fix the footstep glitch it now no longer shows footsteps lol.

Well there was an event in leeds yesterday so spen as long as the parking/battery would allow (so 2 hours) caught lots of stuff mainly psyducks (so now have a cp1000 ish golduxk) seakings/magicarp(not enough for a garidose though) and a few others and using a lucky egg and the fact there were lures everywhere i got to level 15 (just shy of 16 which i ticked off this morning) but i have very few poke balls left was having to use greatballs as it was all i had might have to actually put some cash in. Also took the local gym this morning

Well, I have only spent a week on this game so far, and can see what people mean about the server login issues... it seems every time I am about to walk anywhere I can't login, lol. I couldn't really justify spending money on it, at least not at the moment, especially due to the stability. Nearly level 5 and thanks to advice from the wonderful @Joanne I've got a Pikachu. :)

Really? Logins have been perfect for me for about a week now. I've noticed it takes a little longer to move past the first quarter of the loading bar than it used to, I presume that's some kind of load balance or integrity checks, but I always login without fail.

Well I guess I can only speak for myself then. :) Unfortunately yes it has been a pain for me. Usually if the first quarter is slow to me it will either stick there for minutes and eventually I resign and reload the app, or come up with a Sign Out button while still trying to load, then about 15 - 30 seconds later say it couldn't connect to server. Hopefully this will clear up in time. :)

Yeah I don't think I've had any issues for about a week now... Have to restart the app a few times as walking doesn't get measured when hatching eggs but other than that pretty good [emoji106]

Took my first gym yesterday (for all of about 2 minutes). Managed to collect my 10 poke coins first thou

This is specific to iOS when using a google account to login to Pokemon Go. The update requires extra permissions to be granted and there's no way to communicate that in the iOS UI from the app. You can fix it by logging into your google account on the google website and granting the permissions there. I believe the app wants 'offline access' permissions. Once you grant that and relogin to the app, your progress should be restored.

I'm on iOS and login to Pokemon go through google account, mine didn't do that luckily. Although not on the latest version of IOS yet.

It would depend which version you installed. If you installed the US version then it would of wanted all the permissions. If you installed a later version that only wanted auth detail then you would of never granted off line access.

I updated last night and the animations seem a lot cleaner, I have had to restart the app a couple times as it got stuck.

Went on a walk around Folkestone last night and caught -

- Clefairy

- jigglyPuff

- Exeggcute

- Hitmonchan

- Mankey

- and loads I already had so could level up and evolve Pokemon.

Going out again tonight bit closer to home.

Hit level 20 just as the update landed, cant decide if they nerfed lots of things or stuff just gets harder to catch at 20+, 10CP Weedles taking 5+ balls then running away.

Yeah I noticed lower CP Pokemon getting harder to catch!

Helping out at a festival stall soon. How does one go about setting a lure to attract the punters? Once set, does it need a phone on site all the time? Can it "run out"? How accurate is the placing? (Don't want to spend 2 days telling people that they can't come into the stall).

You have to place the lure on a Pokestop. If your stall isn't directly on one then you are out of luck (plus your competitors around you get advantage of it too).

I believe Lures have to be used at registered Pokestops. They only last 30 mins at a time.

Thanks folks. Will speak to the the guy in charge. It's on a common area that gets "privatised" for the duration of the festival, plus it's the official merch stall - so there may be a chance of choosing a better spot (depends on if other people are paying a premium, I guess).

Can you just keep "topping up" the lure when it runs out?
