DMcGuigan Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 @Arreks depending on your secondary weapon, you've probably got something like "+X $Weapon damage" on a piece of gear that matches. I've got +1500 Marksman Rifle on mine, my secondary DPS flew through the roof. Stats jump massively once you hit level 30, I'm sat at around 110k DPS from my Yellow Vector and around 100k from my First Wave M1A, 2500 Firearms, and around 1500 for Stamina / Electronics. It essentially turns into Diablo III once you hit this point, all about the gear grind, building your characters around certain items / abilities. If you have two yellow items that both give +500 SMG damage, you're going to want to either swap them out, or look into creating a close combat build with tankier health and to complement the lack in distance when using an SMG. One point to always remember with crafted items - The stats aren't ever perfect. You might make a set of Yellow Firearms Kneepads with a +400 firearms bonus. Nice number right? Take that to your Reconfiguration station and check what the potential roll was, you might find that your firearm bonus had a potential roll of between 399-500. Sometimes it pays off to create another over re-rolling the stat to get it higher, lets you reroll something you don't use / need into something more useful, such as crit chance/damage or a gear slot.

Garacesh Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 Oh yes. A lot of people have been complaining about the lack of high-end items in the Dark Zone, and that going Rogue is completely pointless as you lose way more EXP/Credits than you gain if you survive. Dark Zone will be much more interesting now. Roaming around and performing extractions has felt extremely safe up until now, I do hope that's about to change. I'm hoping to see less CPU usage with this patch, even though they've not directly addressed the issue, I'm one of many with all 4 cores hovering at 99%/100% constantly, which occasionally causes stuttering. Some have said going fullscreen instead of boarderless windowed fixes it, but not for me. I've nerf'd the graphics too, to no avail, although that's not really surprising as the vast majority of that will be calculated on GPU. I suppose part of the issue could be Plays.TV recording everything, but I shouldn't imagine my i5 shouldn't ever be constantly maxed out.
L3OUGH Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 Tonight's encounters could be quite interesting then! Looking forward to it already!
JJonas Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 (edited) Tonight's encounters could be quite interesting then! Looking forward to it already! Yes much more interesting. From Holy hell, what went wrong with the latest patch? - Tom Clancy's The Division Message Board for Xbox One - GameFAQs Played for half an hour, here is all the **** I've experienced so far: -Bullet King is both alive and respawning well, exactly the same pre-patch -Literally no exp/credit loss from dying as either rogue or non-hostile, DZ is a ****storm right now. -Chests in DZ still give trash blues -No checkpoint at the start of the challenge mode daily, literally have to respawn at safehouse 0.3km away and run back -I'm only getting matchmade with non-English speaking players right now, all French and German (I'm in Australia) -'holes' and graphical glitches are pooping up everywhere All this in the first half hour after patch. Did no one test this patch? Anything else to add this this list? So I am off to the Dark Zone tonight to power level with no penalty Edited March 22, 2016 by JJonas

I'd love a completely no-holds-barred Dark Zone whilst people abused the no-loss-at-all-for-dieing bug 24 hours of unrelenting mayhem whilst they tried to fix the patch would be so much fun

CAM Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 What's the best way to level in this? Getting bored of running round solo and crashing.
L3OUGH Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 What's the best way to level in this? Getting bored of running round solo and crashing. Get a high ranking friend (lvl27-30) to pull you through the last 3/4 story missions, around 180-200k XP on completion. That's how I got to 30 pretty quick and pulled my friends up too.
Garacesh Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 I reached L30 by doing all of the side-missions. By the time I'd hit L30 I'd only done 4-5 of the 'main' missions (as we were saving those to do them as a party), so just working your way through the storyline should be enough.
LiamHaith Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 I'm only level 10, I found the levelling to be very slow and monotonous when playing solo...
bennz Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 What's the best way to level in this? Getting bored of running round solo and crashing. I just did the story missions, when you get to 20 it gets very easy, I still have 3 areas in the top right of the map where I have done none of the side content. Enjoying doing the dailys atm and attempting the challenge mode which is bat sh*t crazzy. The DarkZone is a nice distraction but found the quality of loot low, however the patch today should resolve that.

Hoping the loot in the DZ gets better from today also!
Arreks Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 I reached 30 by doing all the story missions (minus the last one) then some side missions.. it's actually pretty easy but you need to commit some time to it. I was actually really enjoying my solo experience, I'm only playing with other people now I'm 30 lol.
Garacesh Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 I basically did most of it with just one of my friends, but EXP isn't shared when you're in a group. If you got 120 exp for killing a mob solo, you'll each get 120 exp for killing the same mob as a group. It's worth noting that loot is individual, so if for example a mob drops a high-end item for you, it's only for you, and nobody else can see it or take it*, so there's no reason to not do it as a group. It does take a little while and is slightly grindy, but if you're in a party with friends your typical friendly banter helps keep things from being too boring.. Personally I would've preferred the PvE parts of the game take longer, but have a bit more variety. I hit L30 after 25-28 hours and I felt that was too quickly. * Unless you're in the Dark Zone, in which case they can kill you and take it if it drops as part of your public stash.
haldarulon Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 (edited) I'm only level 10, I found the levelling to be very slow and monotonous when playing solo... if you on tonight... add me as a friend through Uplay (haldarulon) I have a mate who is a lvl 21 dragging me through! much more xp I currently can only get on tuesday evenings so he is leaving me behind, but last week i went from lvl 6 to lvl 14 (maybe even 16) in one session. AS A SIDE NOTE ANYONE CAN ADD ME ON UPLAY! HALDARULON - please mention edugeek when messaging if you want to join me Edited March 22, 2016 by haldarulon
Garacesh Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 (edited) much more xp EXP does not scale. Only the required XP to level up increases. I guess you can have him steamroll you through missions, but enemy levels and difficulty do scale by party level, but the EXP they give does not. So if a lvl17 mob in $InstanceXYZ would give you 100 EXP, and you join with your level 25 friend, the average level of the party increases, the mob increases to level 23, but it's still only worth 100 EXP. I think loot drops are decided by mob level, though, so you might get some decent gear (that you can't use yet) It's a reasonable balance to stop people power-levelling. I have to say, I find myself agreeing with it. Edited March 22, 2016 by Garacesh
