Arreks Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 @Arreks Was it the PC version for £27.99? Yeah, key for UPlay off CJS cd keys. (it's actually £29.95 on there but I'm sure I paid less at the time)
haldarulon Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 bought the PC version for 19.99 CDkeys trick with CDkeys is buy it early!
cherd84 Posted February 25, 2016 Author Posted February 25, 2016 Hmph. I've got £30 of Xbox vouchers to use so would have to pay £25-ish for digitial version. Normally buy from Amazon but seen as I have these vouchers.... It still bugs me how MS charge more than everywhere else does for a version on an actual disc. Is it the same on PS?

I suspect it to not hack off retailers but then let game sell a download code for it at same price as disk version problem solved
LiamH Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 I found the beta a bit boring, and the PVP was pretty trash, i found most of it boiled down to ganks or *person A hiding behind something till heal was off cool-down, then person B would do the same* so it ended up being an effective stand still. I personally got more enjoyment out of the limited number of PVE missions, but even then it just felt too bullet spongy. I understand why they have to make it that way, and at the end of the day its a MMO so needs some RNG/grind, but i really don't see any reason to slap the Tom Clancy label on the game, most of those games are known for realism and short time-to-kill. I'm loving R6:siege so that might be souring my opinion slightly.

I suspect it to not hack off retailers but then let game sell a download code for it at same price as disk version problem solved I can never figure that out... I understand that there are costs with hosting files (especially as they are doing that already!), but really the hosting cost does not equate to the same as printing packaging disc and then the added distributor markup (not sure there) store markup (as much as 20%) and to say upset the stores is rubbish on two counts: 1: there are still people out there who cant stand digital downloads! and will only buy physical copies, due to resale value. 2: microsoft/sony et all could sell digital downloads direct to stores or even distributers then people can choose whether or not to buy from Microsoft or an online or a retail store? and before you say they cant...they all have the structure in place how do consumers currently buy the product online. the real reason is: msoft sony etc can make more money selling online, to cover hardware loses.

Theblacksheep Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 (edited) the real reason is: msoft sony etc can make more money selling online, to cover hardware loses. This generation both make money on their console hardware not losses, making more as the revisions make them financially more efficient. Publishers roughly set the price on PSN and XBL based on tiers. The big publishers want higher price for their AAA games. EA know a % of people will buy COD/FIFA each year and they set the price accordingly. There is some fudging with currency exchanges too, AFAIK it's all US based. jaminben Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 Anyone know what time (GMT) the game will be released? Got a days holiday to use up so was thinking of taking Tuesday or Wednesday next week.
cherd84 Posted March 1, 2016 Author Posted March 1, 2016 Anyone know what time (GMT) the game will be released? Got a days holiday to use up so was thinking of taking Tuesday or Wednesday next week. As far as I'm aware it comes out on 8 March at 00:00 GMT. I bit the bullet and ordered a digital copy using my Xbox vouchers so it should download overnight.

cherd84 Posted March 8, 2016 Author Posted March 8, 2016 Had a quick look for 5 minutes this morning before setting off for work. First thing you have to do is go to a safehouse. Walked in and was greeted by about 8 other players all doing jumping jacks
jaminben Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 Yea, I got up at 05:30 to play for a bit... it's early days but I'm really liking it so far. It also runs really well (PC) so all in all I'm pleased with it
cherd84 Posted March 8, 2016 Author Posted March 8, 2016 @jaminben Did you end up getting the day off? Doesn't look like I'll get a proper go until tomorrow at the earliest - things to do this evening
jaminben Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 @cherd84 No... hopefully I only have to do half a day today and I've got tomorrow off instead (have to attend a meeting at one of our feeder primaries).
PotNoodleTech Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 (edited) I've decided to hold off buying this for now - the beta just didn't quite get me going enough. Will review once I've seen now much actual mission content etc and how varied it is and if there's anything else added to the dark zone other than griefers. I was intending if this wasn't good enough to just hold off until Mass Effect hits but now that's been delayed till 2017, I am in a bit of shtwm! Edited March 8, 2016 by PotNoodleTech
haldarulon Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 My mate blagged the day off... he is at lvl 14 already! says it is quiet (on PC) i said that because everones at work but the joke at the moment is about none of your pre order bonuses are coming through... to gain them put /preorder in text box the old ones are the best!
Garacesh Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 Picked up The Division last night, I've just made it to Manhattan and am setting up a safehouse, so I assume I'm still doing the tutorial. Overall it's not bad. I wish the 'parkour' movements were a bit more fluid/quicker/smoother as it feels a little clunky when you're running and you soooo slooooowlllyyyyy clamber over something.
jaminben Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 Constantly plauged by disconnects this afternoon and once you do get connected you can get placed in a queue to join a game
Garacesh Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 Ha. Found this one earlier Nice little Cornetto Trilogy reference.
CAM Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 I'm having fun now it works. But I strongly recommend you hold off on it until Ubisoft sort themselves out as they have pulled some right clangers. When launching you must not touch anything after clicking the shortcut or the graphics fail to start and you get nothing but sound and a black screen. When you try verify your identity in the tutorial you cannot interact with the terminal and players are actually queuing up to try and proceed. I only fixed it after logging out, installing display drivers and logging back in (WTF?). Talking of display drivers, the game performs best on the newest drivers but you must click Custom Install and select Clean Install or you risk entering BSOD hell (thanks NVidia). And I know of at least one person who was told (after sitting in a 600 strong queue for support) that installing Division on a separate disk to Windows has caused UPlay to go up the wall and refuse to download the updates. Fun game but would not recommend in it's current launch state. Give it a bit to settle first and save yourself lots of hassle!

Arreks Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 @CAM not had any of those issues luckily but I did have trouble redeeming my rewards from the vendor! I'm enjoying it (I mean, it's not amazing but it's killing time).
