Link: BBC - Robot Wars rebooted for BBC Two - Media Centre

Mentorn Scotland, part of the Tinopolis Group, has been commissioned by BBC Two to produce a new series of the man and machine battle series Robot Wars, it was announced today.

The iconic entertainment show will return as a 6x60’ series and will feature a new structure with more robots, more battles and more science than ever before.

The new series includes a raft of technological advances since the show first aired over a decade ago, and viewers can expect to see more innovative fighting machines as teams of amateur roboteers battle it out to win the coveted Robot Wars title.

The show will be recorded in a new purpose-built fighting arena in Glasgow, allowing viewers to get even closer to the action, with state-of-the-art cameras capable of capturing every crushing, sawing and scorching moment in incredible detail...

i watched it pretty good. Diddnt razor do about as well as always lol. My main issue was the canned laughter (or what sounded like it) that just seemed naff

I loved it. Where was sargent bash?

i assume gone. I wonder if they are the old robots dragged from a cupboard or new ones built from blueprints. If the former i wonder if he diddnt survive somehow

The house robots were 3 times the size now, so rebuilds.

Personally I thought it was rather naff, 3 minute fights but they only showed the "highlights" of some of them because they weren't the full 3 minutes. The arena looked too clean and "designed" as oppose to the odl one that looked quite menacing, the house robots were pathtic in my opinion they did nothing really, I'm a little disapointed that the house robots are 300KG each (except Killalot who weighed way more of course), for no real reason. There can't be anymore of the competitors flipping Matilda over for fun etc which always added to the entertainment or when Razor destroyed her.

Enjoyed in this house too.

So who watched it? I thought it was pretty good. We didn't see enough from the house robots is about my only criticism.

Agreed. I missed Craig Charles mad enthusiasm too.

Yes that was always entertaining:D

I think it'll turn out alright in the end though :)

I enjoyed it. I was so disappointed to see Razor go out so early though! As was most of Twitter it seems! I wonder if HypnoDisc and Chaos 2 are coming back. HypnoDisc vs Carbide would be very interesting indeed!

I agree. I'm looking forward to see which teams from the past turn up next week:)
