I'm surprised they have time to post photos with all the marking they must be doing over Christmas.

Most of ours haven't even been able to carry it all home. Under one teachers desk there's 12 bottles of wine...would they miss one?

In my last school (primary) it seemed like it was a competition to see who got the most presents.

 

I made my feelings heard that as a member of support staff I never got thanked etc.

 

Next day I had rewrapped presents given to me which were obviously given to them by one of their kids.

 

Moved to a new school (secondary) and although I didnt get any presents, Members of staff emailed and spoke to me saying thank you.

How great would it be for all of the gifts to be donated to charity.

Came in this morning to a bottle of Prosecco, one for each of the bursary staff from Year 6 parents. Miracles do happen

Reminds me that after my wife had finished at this time of year, I used to find the dustbin stuffed with presents she'd been given by the kids. First time I was actually quite shocked and saddened - I know most of it was tat but even so! I used to secretly rescue the teddy bears. This Christmas it's just me and them.

Don't forget pieces of food all over it, I'm sure on the first day back they will "politely" ask for you to clean it let alone doing it them selves and certainly wouldn't blame you for the keyboard not working properly.

most of the teachers in my school got a few presents - mostly cheap as the parents can't afford much

 

I got some socks, a hand made pyramid (dunno why - but she made it so it was good)

and a bottle of presecco from the head

 

a few years ago a teacher got a full bottle of expensive cognac - from a family who are 'know to the police'

 

I suppose it depends on where your school is

We got a tub of celebrations and two boxes of biscuits in the last few weeks, each from the more appreciative members of staff.....they've all gone to a better place now.

Of course anyone being too boastful might find HMRC have been having a look and will put in a demand for tax.....

Interesting how all of the photos of presents are of women's presents, mostly single women. (Gets coat)
