I think one of the top comments for the video was something along the lines of the film looks like a spin off of guardians of the galaxy which from what I can see is pretty much exactly what it looks like.

There didn't seem to be much going on with it apart from a lot of CGI.

I agree, it's an awesome track. For anyone who has not seen the original video, it looks like they had so much fun making this.

But yes seems JJ is getting Star Trek so far away from what it always was that it is more comedy than science fiction.

I liked the first reboot film despite the utterly stupid ending (Giving a raw cadet the rank of Captain and giving him command of the flagship? Oh please) and even Into Darkness had its good bits but this... this... I'm lost for words.

 

I'm hopeful that the new series that UPN are supposedly producing will give us some more traditional Trek. It's been too long.

UPN ceased to exist in 2006, its CBS that are making the new series.

 

Though with the executive producer of 'Star Trek' and 'In to Darkness' in charge, we might be in for more of the same :/

As far as I care, Spock fell through that hole in the prime universe to whatever mess JJ Abrams created and everything has carried on as it is. Not that it's the first time Star Trek has messed up the universe, wonder when the Temporal Investigations show up to put things right. It should be part of the Temporal Cold War?

 

Or just wait for Q to show up and click his fingers "Ohhh it was all just a bad dream Captain Picard!"
