Hi

You should notice a new similar threads box that appears when you type and subject in on the creation of the a new post.

We hope this will help prevent duplicate posts but it is in testing so we may remove it in the future.

Please post any comments/bugs here

Cheers

One feature I like, but im strugglign to find again, is one for VB where if your about to post a reply to a thread over a certain age since its last post it warns you and asks you to either enter a validation code or tick a box to say yes I know im doing this, I think its quite good for some areas to stop people digging up the past in say general chat type areas

Nice feature - would I be right in saying that it is just searching the thread titles, though, and not the actual posts themselves? I just tried creating some posts called "duplicate post", which appears twice (three times, now!) in this thread, and it didn't find it, but it did come up when I started a new post called "similar post".

It works by using the vbulletin similar threads system.

I believe its smarter then just title search but not 100% sure.

Also when posting the similar thread system is batch updated to save server load so it may take a bit before the similar threads appear. Its not to much of a issue as a batch as it at least improves things currently.

I just got the following thanks through PM for the feature which was nice :D

Just wanted to say thanks for that feature, went to post a Q about recycling toners and ink cartridges and it pulled up similiar threads ( very handy ! )

Thanks again !

Very nice to hear the feature is working out ;)
