  1. I have a hard hat just for the normal day to day. Might need to borrow someone's crash helmet Good suggestion though.
  2. This is very true. I try to ignore most of the stupid things that come my way, this may end up being one of them. However, one teacher is like a terrier (wont let go)
  3. I know, but have you tried getting teachers to do things more than once? If it was off a bit they could cope with it, but then orient if its too bad. They are just trying to save time. I have shown them how quick it is to orient the board, but they want it all working out of the bag as it were.
  4. Our staff now have laptops to use in the classroom instead of networked PC's. They connect to Smartboards and sound etc. via a USB-C docking station. This all seems to work fine, but the issue we are having is with SMART notebook and the SMART boards. Normally you would setup the orientation on the PC once and because the PC doesn't move the settings stay the same. However with the laptops, the teachers are having to orient the board every time they move classes. I have been unable to find a way to stop this having to happen. We are running SMART Notebook 20 although the boards are SMART SB680's (rather old) Does anyone have a solution or work around? Many thanks
  5. Even the newer drivers work. We still have 680's and the latest drivers work fine.
  6. We have given up on Loom. We are going to use MS Streams instead. That works through our firewall.
  7. This resolved my issue that I started seeing after installing the Autumn update. Thanks for posting the fix.
  8. Hi spr, Correct, we never got it sorted. I think our support company have been on to Loom support, but not sure how far they got yet. I might drop them a line and tell them what you have found. Why not give the app settings for proxy. Seems a bit silly to me. Will let you know if we get anywhere.
  9. I have our support company looking at this as well and they are stumped at present as well. How can I specify loom.com from https inspection. We have one that I assume the support guy has added that is called loom, but not sure that is right. Don't know much about Smoothwall, so have to keep looking at the web help.
  10. The proxy is set on the PC, but there are no settings within Loom to allow you to set a proxy.
  11. I think the title says it all really. We are having problems getting Loom to connect to the Internet via our Smoothwall. The chrome app works fine, but the teachers want to be able to use the desktop version as it works better. Anyone managed to get Loom going through their Smoothwall? Thanks
  12. Yes, it would be rather useful if they removed them. I got an error with a machine and I eventually got on to MS, who told me the key was no longer valid. Removing anything that is not longer relevant is surely a simple enough task for MS.
  13. Finally got this sorted. I went through the event log and found an error. This indicated that it was a group policy, so I went through things and disabled certain GPO's. This solved the problem, so I enabled the GPO's until I found the one. Luckily it was a small policy. On logoff we have a batch file that runs to give a log of the users logoff time etc. We have a policy that blocks the command prompt for students, but it was also set to block scripts. It was the blocking of scripts that was causing the issue. Its not ideal, but I have taken that off. The funny thing is this didn't affect Windows 7 sign outs and they use the same policy.
  14. Nothing for anti exploit, nothing special at all.
  15. No, we are using ESET Endpoint AV. Our Windows 7 machines are fine and it is not all of the Windows 10 PC's.
  16. New file attached. We use mandatory profiles for the students.
  17. We are having a problem with some Windows 10 machines. When a user logs off, the screen says signing out with the circle of white dots. It stays on this machine for an age, sometimes it will logoff or we have to turn the PC off and back on to sort it out. I have updated the Network drivers, but this made no difference. Have looked at the event log files and done plenty of google searching, but I am at a loss as to what to do next. I have attached the event logs from one machine. Any help would be appreciated. Lib-PC06.txt
  18. DOH, looks like my brain is defective today. The config I was looking at in notepad and the one in config editor were in different locations. In my defence I do have a headache
  19. We have just found this great piece of software and I am in the process of getting the config file sorted out. I have found that I need to save the config after every change. If I change two items it doesn't seem to save. Also I have been trying to change the default save path, but no matter what I change it to in the configEditor, it doesn't affect the default save path. This stays as the users Desktop. I have looked at the config file itself and the value under Default Save path is blank, however if I open the file in the configeditor the path is there. Any ideas?
  20. Normal MS, very user friendly
  21. Hi Both, Many thanks for the replies. I was clearly being a numpty I looked yesterday where you have said and didn't see what was clearly staring me in the face. It was right at the bottom of the Office365 A1 for students licence. Thanks once again.
  22. Possibly been covered before, but couldn't find it. We have a student that had their access to email removed by a former colleague. I am assuming they used power shell to do this, but I may be wrong. We now need to give this student access to email once more. When I go in to the admin center I am told that the user doesn't have an Exchange licence. I cannot see how I can give this user the Exchange licence via the admin center. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
  23. I have found this: https://jairocadena.com/2016/01/18/how-domain-join-is-different-in-windows-10-with-azure-ad/ Which may be related. I am not in school until next week, but if I get a chance I will remote in and take a look.
  24. You are correct, I either forgot or it didn't attach. I will try again I know its not a CSV, but I wasn't allowed to attach a CSV. r41-pc.txt
  25. I have just had a look at the event logs and found some that may be relevent. I have attached a CSV file if you want a look. I will go through the errors and see if I can find anything that is useful. The PC is in a new OU for the Windows 10 PC's. I get the same on other PC's as well. Staff Logins are good, students not. I need to do a new image with 1703, but haven't currently got the time. If all else fails I will need to keep the student PC's on Windows 7 until I can figure this out. Thanks for the help.
