Had a quick search and couldn't immediately find a thread about golf, so here is one.

I've just signed up to a beginners course that starts next month. I'm hoping to get playable over winter and then I might be able to join my husband and his friend when we all go to spain in easter on a golfing holiday.

Even if I just do 9 holes I'd be happy with that.

Also if you like golf, my t'other half does a YouTube channel (I edited one of the videos) so if you like watching golf VLOGS check it out... also if you like to laugh at amateur golfers, then it could be for you... I find them most amusing!

The video I edited is the Q & A one. I also feature briefly in the ghost sighting one... hah!

Anyone on here play / watch golf?

I play. Become a member of a course last year and play most weekends sat and sun. (The Mrs doesn't agree) my membership is 48 per month so it works out at 6 pound per round. Bargain really!

Had some lessons, it made me worse for a period of time but now I'm playing reasonably decent golf shooting 90's the majority of time.

Hope to get my handicap when it starts to get better weather and I have booked ten more lessons..

Can't beat a good game of golf, although if you asked me that when I was on the ninth soaking wet last Saturday it would have been a different answer.

I'll check out the channel! Thanks

Yeah the husband plays most weekends and to be honest, I'm fine with it because I can just play on my PS4 without being disturbed!! He is at a private club, so the green fees are a bit more expensive so I definitely let him play when he wants to get our money's worth!

Although if it's not one thing it's another. He got some new golf clothes a couple of months ago, a new 4 wood club last month and now he wants a new driver.... it's an expensive hobby!

The course I've signed up for is beginners ladies at a new driving range that has opened in town. I can just about do pitch and putt, so if I can get up to a full swing I'd be happy!!!

I like to play, but can't really afford too. I also am convinced it'll be full of terrible oiks and yoofs during weekends and half terms (When i have time to play)

My weakest part of my game is approach play/any shot within 50 yards of the green. But only gone on a course....5....times. Go quite often to the driving range though.

I've played a couple of times, but I never saw the point. Why walk all the way around the links when you can just go straight to the club house (with bar?) Still each to their own. There are many who wonder why I go into a dungeon to hump weights around.

Yeah I imagine that I'll get too frustrated and lose patience, but if I can at least play for this holiday next year I'll be happy.

I've been playing for a few years now and am a bit addicted (to playing and buying new stuff for it)....actually thinking about it I've been playing for 9 years now! Tend to play once a week (twice in the summer where I can).

I've actually had a phonecall this morning from the golf club as they've been doing their end of year handicap reviews...and they've decided to knock me a shot off taking me down to 19.8! First time I've ever had my handicap under 20!! :-)

I threw out my Golf clubs a few years ago - we were a bit pushed for space and SWMBO was nagging me to get rid of stuff. We ended up with more space and in the end she got rid of me. Now, I'd rather have the clubs back.

A couple I'm friends with recently asked me to play a round. I misheard. Sheesh, I guess some friendships are just passing things.

Ok, time to be more active on the Edugeek golf thread :-)

Played well last night (albeit the 4 holes I played), Par putt on the first, birdie putt on the second, birdie putt on the third, par putt on the fourth...just desperately need to sort my putting out as I ended up bogeying all 4 holes! But at least the rest of my game is looking ok.

This was my scorecard last night...

lost it on the 18th!!

I have similar problems....I always manage to have one hole (no matter how well I've been playing) that ruins the score card.....I can easily put a 10/12 on my card without any real explanation or even losing a ball!
